The Manchester United Thread

Do we, why? Lamps and Milner leaving, Denayer, Lopes and Rekik are all returning. All meet the criteria. The papers are pushing this due to the FA revision plan which will never get off the ground before 2017 at least.

I would highly expect us to do in close to 150mil though, not counting the money for sold players anyway. A FB, A CM, A Winger and A striker. Fernando and Fernadinho are solid enough when the play together as shown in the Roma games, when either has to cover Yaya, they're ******.

You need them well before the FA plan, you need them just for the current rules. Boyata is only there for you to stay inside the rules. so unless you are giving up four places to players you wont actually use, you need homegrown talent. It's why you are following Cresswell to replace Kolarov.

And you can't spend 150m either too, not without selling players.

Doubtful, City need young homegrown players. They can't buy everyone.

One would hope so. Hummels, Depay, Clyne, CM and ST would make me a happy camper. While I'd love for our CM to be Pogba, Gundogan or Schneiderlin seems more likely. As for ST, considering we have Rooney in a one striker tactic, it'll probably be someone young.

I have been on a few Forums at work today and I cant believe how many think RVP should replace Rooney now he is fit and move Rooney to CM :O and a lot seem to want Wilson gone also LOL.

Apparently its only Liverpool and United chasing Depay. Chelsea and United chasing Clyne, with Coleman and Alves alternatives for us; we're less keen on Gundogan; always after Pogba; no idea on Schneiderlin; tracking Cavani and Dybala; almost certainly releasing Falcao, and RVP is 50/50

Pearson determined to kick on

Manchester United midfielder Ben Pearson is enjoying his loan spell at Barnsley and hoping to kick on, something that is a recurring theme when talking to the combative England Under-20 international.

Helping to inspire a charge up the table by the League One side, only halted by consecutive defeats over Easter, the on-loan youngster believes he has handled the step up from Reserves-level football with the Reds.

"I'm loving it," he told MUTV. "I've extended the loan twice and all the lads have been great. I've been playing every game and playing well, kicking on, which is good experience. There is such a difference and I think it's the next step in my career. I needed to do it. I saw a lot of Under-21 action in the last 18 months or so and this was the next step. There is a massive fanbase here and what a club to come to. It was underachieving when I first came but we've kicked on since then."

The Tykes players have helped Pearson settle in to life at the Yorkshire club and he has coped with the change in manager after Lee Johnson replaced Danny Wilson at the Oakwell helm.

"Since the first day, they've all been welcoming," he stated. "It's quite a young bunch – only three or four are aged over 30. I've got friendly with them all so it's just like being part of a normal team.

"It was a bit difficult at first when Danny Wilson left as he obviously brought me here. I was a bit unsure as to whether I'd move back and everything would change but the caretaker came in and was all for me playing as well. So I took that on board and now Lee Johnson has been appointed. I knew he wanted me at Oldham before so it's all been good. The gaffer has shown faith in me so I can't really complain."

Pearson is keeping track of the progress of the team he has left behind as Warren Joyce's charges sit at the top of the table. As for the future, he is unsure what will happen next season after he returns to Old Trafford.

"I've been watching all the Under-21 games and they seem to be doing well," the 20-year-old added. "I speak to quite a few of them to see how they're doing and I never lose contact with them while I'm here.

"I came here just for experience originally and hoping I could kick on. Whether next year I can be in the first-team fold, you never know, or go out on loan again, hopefully to a Championship side, so it would be good if Barnsley get promoted. I'll see what happens. I'm not tied down to anything. I just want to play my football and enjoy myself."

Doubt we'll get Cavani, it'll be the Ibra situation all over again, except with Rooney. And if Rooney drops to CM again, that'd be a ****** disaster. Dybala would be decent as a backup striker; Although, I keep seeing rumours that Wilson could be sent out on loan. Which would mean that one of our current crop of strikers will remain (probably RvP?)

Extremely ridiculous. I love RvP (crazy ****** is close to beating Sir Bobby's record for League goals in my FM save), but IRL, considering the kind of form he's had over the season, it'd be stupid if RvP replaced Rooney as ST.

That'd be ridiculous. While I love RvP, (****** is close to bearing Sir Bobby's record in my FM save), the only way he should start instead of Rooney at ST is if Roo was indisposed. ****, Wilson probably has had a better time this season than RvP or Falcao.

Wait people actually want rooney moved into CM? do these muppets even watch football, i mean ffs.

Wouldn't mind Wilson getting a loan especially if we do get depay and a cavani.

Again, can't see much truth in Cavani rumours. He won't be agreeable to be a backup to Rooney, and LvG likes to play his captain always. That could mean Rooney dropping to midfield, which I'm not find of, or a return to a two striker formation (which I wouldn't mind as long as we don't revert to 3 at the back). So, likely no Cavani, buy a young striker and sell everyone else, or keep RvP for another year.

I cant believe what I have been reading honestly! Wison is slow, poor finisher **** touch and so on. Also RVP would make us better, Rooney is stopping us scoring more and playing **** and is doing nothing for the team :O

I would like Lacazette or Vietto far more than Cavani. Less expensive in terms if both transfer and wages, and still young enough to be backup to Roo initially.

Stupidity.

Going round Atletico have Vietto all but signed.

Well, they tend to have absurdly good luck with South American strikers, so yeah.. Vietto will probably be the next striker all clubs will be lining to buy a few years down the line..

Although, if we get back to CL, I think we can easily still get him over Atleti, if a deal already hasn't been completed yet..

Why is everyone **** bent on buying wingers? On the left wing there's already 60m Di Maria warming the bench at this point and Young is definitely staying the way he's been playing. I'd imagine Januzaj might be leaving since he's been wank and far too low in the pecking order.

Reus is out of the question anyways, since you need width on the left with Mata cutting inside from the right.

For me the primary focus should be in 3 areas: CB, RB and Carrick replacement needs to be lined up - he's getting old and injury prone.

If there's some money left or if RVP/Hernandez can be sold well, a second top striker wouldn't hurt, since you'll need that for CL games.

From what I have read/ been told its all but done. They also beat Madrid to him.

Hummels,Clyne. Blind will replace Carrick imo. Can see us signing Gundogan for CM. Cant see any top STR coming more like a good young STR. And Januzaj wont be sold or loaned imo, not LVGs style when dealing with young talent he rates at the club and in the first team already.
