The Manchester United Thread

As Neville said, we're no where near quick enough going forward, slow and ponderous almost.

Really failed to even see a positive today, which is worrying.

Who the **** is this Anthony Martial guy?

19 year old hotshot Monaco forward,

And no, he's not worth £36m, even under desperately overpaying standards. It literally makes no sense no matter how much money you have. Put it this way, you could probably trigger a hasty discussion over lacazette for that much. You go definitely get Zlatan for less

We're going to overpay for anyone, I don't think Zlatan is the answer really, we need more pace and vertical movement as that guy on this forum said. More runs beyond the defence. Is he going to offer all this in reality or more someone who's going to hold up the ball?

Got to say I was really disappointed with Memphis today, I mean he could of been invisible. We really need a signing or two before this window shuts or I feel this season is going to be a struggle. We're just lacking, if De Gea goes then I'd consider it very much a disaster situation. Unless we did get someone in return such as Keylor Navas.

Zlatan offers something Rooney and most strikers dont: goals from just about anywhere. He can score pretty much from any kind of service,

Definitely take a player like him now, but that's not saying much because Rooney was terrible again today. I'm really worried about each ends of the pitch at the moment, I don't know about you. Swansea was our best opponent so far this season and they caused us a lot of problems.

We're 48h before window closes. Whatever happens is bound to be drastically overpriced.

I still find it staggering that our net spend is pretty much 0, we must have cash to absolutely burn when you consider the wages we've released as well.

Swansea have caused us problems for 3 years now. Not that concerned tbh.

I'd take a player like Zlatan as a second striker at any point.

zzezz, you're always worried. You've been worried for like 2 years.

Neville is going to manager England, since he already coaches.

LVG will be replaced by either Klopp or Guardiola, depending on how well he does, ie Klopp if he gets sacked, and Pep when his contract expires.

You're welcome to the Spaniard but if Rodgers has another capitulation, don't be so sure Klopp will end up at the Manchester end of the East Lancs.

True, but I really think we do have problems. Romero, is just not good enough. There is pace and movement lacking in final third.

The possession game and compact is all well and good but problem is we don't have the cutting edge of a United team anymore so if we give away goals we will most likely lose because we don't score many.

Even Neville is saying we need players. Personally I'd just be happy with that extra ingredient in attack at this point. Fellaini as a striker is a joke and if Chicharito goes I don't know what we're playing at. I'm not his biggest fan but right now we need him.

Not picking on you zz, nor is this personal. Just running with what I've read a lot today.

I think some realistic perspective is needed on Memphis.

He's a 21 year old young man who's away from home for the first time starting a new life in a completely foreign Country; whilst trying to adapt to a MUCH higher standard of football to what he's been used to, to this point in his career and he's still relatively inexperienced in his still pretty embryonic pro career.

You're naturally gonna' get a LOT of dips as he both learns to adapt to the English game and English life on his own in general. He's a wonderful talent with great potential. But it's still developing potential with a lot to learn so a little patience is called for.

Sadly, in the transient, 'what have you done for me lately to justify the £20 odd million fee and hype?' World we live in, many won't give him that time and expect instant results. But at the end of the day, it's a massive, life changing move from all standpoints as it is for many young players coming here and he should be afforded that leeway as a consideration when he does have down games.

Apparently this Martial rumour has come from an incredibly reliable journo and it's 50million euro offer.
