The Manchester United Thread

Will this signing even solve any of our immediate problems? From what people have been saying they are mostly shocked in France at how much we are paying for him and there is no doubting that he's more one for the future.

To be honest I never really like to believe a fee these days because media like to exaggerate and didn't it turn out that in the end Schweinsteiger was only like £6.5m?

To have a predator in the box who doesn't take a tea break before shooting? Probably, but watching us playing tells me we have some sort of fundamental problems, couldn't really put a finger on what exactly. Can be LVG philosophy, can be the fact that we lack the penetration totally from our attacking play, who knows?

Ah, I see. I know he's very young but £36m... Really?

Martial could be average in two years, or he could go on to be one of the best in the world. It's a big gamble. But United arent lacking funds. Best comparison is Luke Shaw. Extraordinary price that could be a bargain long term. The deal itself isnt the issue its the other things around it.

Yeah this makes absolutely no sense at all.

Probably not, but, BPL and United is going to be a big step up for him. Even someone experienced like Falcao struggled so it's going to be a massive challenge for him.

It's definitely a gamble for that price, and his record certainly suggests he's not a £36m player but at least he'll fit in. I read somewhere that he hasn't managed a shot on target for two games now. ;)

Dude Falcao has been **** for like 2 years now. Nothing to do with BPL.

Only really since he came to PL has he been bad, he was still relatively good at Monaco when he came back from his injuries with decent goalscoring record. Which doesn't say much about the French Ligue but that's kind of the point. It doesn't take much to look good in that league and find it much harder here.

I think it's a massive gamble as most people agree, plus his goalscoring record is very mediocre. But then again that doesn't say too much as so was Thierry Henry's at his earlier clubs.

Falcao came back from his ACL for Monaco around January/February time and still scored goals though. Whether he was performing bad I have no idea, but he was still scoring.

Chelsea made 55 Million Euros bid just 10 days back.

Today, Martial is one of the hottest properties in European football. Chelsea reportedly made a 55-million-euro offer for the France under-21 international. Monaco are determined to hold on to Martial this season but if the Ligue 1 side fails to qualify for the Champions League it may force a rethink at the Stade Louis II.
