CALHANOGLU TO OLD TRAFFORD
Looks like Anthony Martial isn't the only fella off to Manchester United on deadline day. According to reports in the Turkish media, it's another promising young star headed to the Red Devils.

What's intriguing about this rumour is that it isn't being reported as such. It isn't a rumour for Turkish media outlet Koprubasi, who claim United have signed - not 'interested in signing' - Hakan Calhanoglu.

The 21-year-old is certainly highly thought of, with his free-kicks a highlight reel's best friend. Koprubasi claim the deal has been completed and Calhanoglu is a United player for €36m, which works out at around £26m.

Exactly my point. He acted professional and respected the club by not forcing out a transfer. He's must be devastated with the whole thing as apparently he was already celebrating in Madrid with his GF when the whole thing fell apart. He needs something to pick him up , and there aren't many woes that extra million $ a year won't fix .

And he's hardly well paid for a player of this caliber.

Awww his move fell through. It happens, he's under contract and paid to be a professional to play for Manchester United. Rewarding him due to 'he's a bit sad today' is pathetic.

Dortmund did that? Really?

Never knew that. Interesting approach. I guess it paid off with his output and the Champions League spot. But that could of been one highly costly error on top of turning down the fee.

Yup. He was on one of lowest wages in the club, and they gave him 3m/year raise freely on his last year. Basically they respected his contributions and rewarded it with a chunk of cash, and they guy played his lungs out for a full year. Seems like a sensible approach, its not much of a price to keep your key player happy.

Turkish media are renowned to be ****, but who knows, guess we'll find out. Haven't got a clue who he is and where he plays.

No, that would be rewarding him for years of excellent service. Attitude like yours is exactly why players aren't loyal. Loyality works both ways, if clubs don't respect the players, you can't expect them not to jump the ship at moments notice.

Quick look on Wiki says he's an attacking midfielder. Been likened to Ozil, not bad at free kicks and supposed to have a good pass. He scored for Leverkusen against Lazio the other day.

I'd take him, but that's not saying much because we're still lacking in attacking areas so I'm pretty desperate.

With the DDG **** up now Woody has a new mission surely: one full season to introduce DDG to nice Mancunian girls ...

I got him on fm 2015 once on my united save

Only thing he was good at was freekicks and corners

I refuse to believe we're not doing more business, one injury to Rooney and who replaces him? A 19 year old in Martial or Fellaini.

An injury to Mata who replaces him? A 19 year old, the same one, who can apparently play on the flank as well.

It literally makes 0 sense to only bring one 19 year old in when Januzaj and Chicharito have left. Wilson pretty much as well.

I don't think you will. After Martial the Navas/DDG might get pushed through but I doubt it.

Our depth is scarishly thin, I have no idea what LVG or Woodward is thinking if we're bringing in a 19 year old as the only attacking reinforcement in an area that was already thin. Then furthermore allowing 3 further out the door. Staggering if we don't and a seriously dangerous gamble.

No, his wage & loyalty, sign-on bonuses are already tied into any contract and are his reward for excellent service. You don't give him more for acting like he is supposed to, on top of that. He is a professional player, he is already paid to deal with situations like this accordingly. You want to give him a million pound bonus for doing his job.
