The Manchester United Thread

Schweinsteiger isn't the player he once was though, it's just the truth.

All in all I am finding it very dire all round, Rooney is actually playing alright to his usual standards. Martial doing pretty well and Memphis Depay, whatever his name, pretty poor.

He's still one of the best ineurope, and it's still wholly irrelevant to this game, since he wouldnt have been able to stop it in his prime either.

I don't think you can lay the blame at any one player. The entire side has been awful this 1st half

This is all on Van Gaal. Very poor selection, playing Carrick with Bastian is suicide. Everybody said before season that it wouldn't work, he tried that in pre-season games and it didn't work, I don't know why the **** he went with that lineup.

Exactly. In fact you and I had this very long discussion about it right before the season about combinations.

One game and now Schweinsteiger isn't the player that he was? What about the other games where he's been the same player he's been?

We win some, We lose some. It just so happens this is going to be a game we lose. Stop thinking its the end of the world.

No I just think Schweinsteiger can get exposed in big games now, that's why I made the point, don't get all defensive over it.

United of old had game-changers who could come off the bench, now what do we have, Fellaini and Valencia.

Just think of it this way, Martial looks bright still, and we aren't Chelsea :D

Expecting to see Fellaini come on after the break.

Great... what a time to be alive and supporting United. God I miss the old days where we had proper game-changing players on the bench.

Because its knee jerk and largely incorrect. Not getting defensive just pointing out its nonsense.

Game changers largely irrelevant right now if you dont get the organisation right sharpish. It's not like we didnt get hammered with RVP and Ronaldo beforehand around, oh wait....

Idk whether this is a positive or negative, a club like us constantly shining on about a 19 year old to cling on to some kind of hope. Plus when he has the support of Rooney, Mata and Depay I kind of feel sorry for him. Although Rooney has been better than his normal utter-dire self.

Fellaini is a game changer. We change our gameplay for him

why does his age matter. Would you be happier if he was 25? Rooney is 29 if it makes you feel better.

Hoof ball and hope we pick up the scraps. Plus I don't see how that is not playing into Mertesackers strength, should be targeting him on the ground.

Lets not even pretend Arsenal are even that good either, we've just been absolutely awful and created next to nothing. Their defence is nothing special whatsoever, just conceded 3 to Olympiakos.

zzeezzy as soon as things go bad, you pick on the weirdest things to complain about. The one thing that is actually killing us (organisation and numbers) you don't even mention.

Louis van gaals ARMY. wonder what nonsense he will say after the game. We controlled possession maybe?

This game is build for MS with BS in a 3 man midfield. Then its carrick or herrera depending on how aggressive you want to be.

I didn't say it was a good change. You just asked for a game changer, and with Fellaini coming on, our game will change into hoof ball instead of possession.

Arsenal aren't good? Well that's disrespectful to the team that currently stands 2nd.

That's obvious though, no point barking about that when others have.

I don't see how we can expect to win anything (silverware) when we go into big games relying on Young as an LB and Blind as an CB. It's not really surprising if they get caught out or make mistakes, you almost expect it.

But they are not the issue, so harping on at them is irrelevant. Even Rio and vidic would be in massive trouble this exposed. remember the 6-1?

Yeh, because we haven't gifted them this game with our setup and performance.
