Just my own thoughts, but I don't buy anything that came out of Utd the weekend that they aren't looking at anyone and he'll see out another year.

Whether you can tempt him is another thing, but I'll shocked if Utd don't go in hard for Guardiola this summer.

Yeah, RVP scored lot because we were relentless in the attack. Our midfield was poor but still the attacking game was very good.

Also our tempo was much higher which means our attackers had time to make some decisions. Now we are so slow that opposition are back and crowd the box. Our attackers can barely take a touch in the box.

Our attacking game was good this game. We just couldn't score because that **** happens sometimes.

And normally most players have very little time for touches in the box. Man Utd aren't an anomaly there.
 
Also everyone seems to forget that Sir Alex did have a plan B and plan C during matches and rarely did Sir Alex go route one (Long ball Style) like LVG when he's pushing for goal. I'm not saying that Sir Alex didn't do that but only in desperation when he might thrown Bruce or Pallister up front in early days. I find it quite embarrassment when LVG throws Fellaini up front and plays long ball on regular basis. He doesn't seem to have a plan B for us.

This game attacking looked good because we were atrocious in previous games. In a game where we created 1-2 half decent chances we are considering it as good now. Also West Ham created much more better chances than us. Hit the woodwork twice, De Gea made a save one on one and Zarate missed another one on one chance. On the other hand our chances were Martial blocked shot, Fellaini's miss from few yards.

Also, when your attacker is up against 2-3 defenders he can take touch and make decision. When your attacker is up against 7-8 defenders in the box then he can't take any proper touch. This is happening because of our slow tempo.
 
Van Persie in SAF's last season was scoring from countless half chances. That's the kind of quality you are missing right now. This team can only score if it gets a CCC.

The one on ones had no right going in unless the goalkeeper was Stevie Wonder, and the second woodwork was De Gea's error. They've only created one good chance, the first woodwork.

One on one was a great chance but Moses missed it. If that's not a chance then ManUtd created 0 chances.
They also created very good chance for Zarate (Carroll's flick) and he was one on one with GK but he dragged it wide.
De Gea mistake or not, it was a chance. If we end up not counting chances from opponent mistakes then the chances created in the whole season will be in single digit.

No it was not. Half chance at best. It was a tight angle that has no right going in, bar some miracle shot or goalkeeper ******* up.

I didn't say I'm not counting it as a chance. I'm not counting is as a chance created by West Ham, because, well, they didn't.

Doesn't matter if they're chances or not, the problem is the away teams are having more shots on goal or off target than United and United are the home team.

Even if that one one one is half chance (which it isn't, Moses finishing was very poor, Mahrez scored more or less from same angle and Vardy scored against us from even tighter angle) still West Ham created more chances. Best chance of the game was Carroll's flick to Zarate who missed it.

Also if that's the logic, then instead of goals scored column we should have goals scored by team and own goals separately. Chances created = Goal scoring chance for West Ham and first woodwork was one.

We played better than we did previously. Why can't you just say that? We've been poor the past few months in terms of creating chances and shots on goal, but this game was better and hopefully signals a change?

And we play slow possession based football for the most part. Sure that contributes to having to attack vs 7-8 defenders, but what also contributes is that fact that most teams set up defensively vs us. They want to attack us on the counter so they have many people behind the ball and then break with 3-5 people. Then when they lose the ball they come straight back to defending.

Like you said, we played better than previously but that doesn't mean we played well.

We play against 7-8 defenders because of our tempo where we give time for opposition enough time to organize themselves and get players behind the ball.
 
We don't seem capable of attacking 'on the break' at all.
If we win the ball in our own area and 'break', it goes something like this...

1: Win possession and break
2: Get up the pitch, crowd gets excited.
3: "I'm not shooting... Best get it out to the wing"
4: Pass to wing
5: "What are you passing to me for?? I'm not taking yer man on"
6: Pass back to holding midfielders
7: Opposite team camped in their area
 
Must win game today but sadly I can't see us winning today. Hopefully CSKA will get result against PSV.

Presumably heightened security after what's happened recently.

Somehow don't think I'll get that tomorrow morning on the flight to Zurich lol.
