The Manchester United Thread

Yeah and all the time media said he will sign for City in the summer and it didn't happen yet.

Looks like Pelligrini will win the league this season, so hard for City to sack him after just winning the league.

Re, Oliver Kay, I wouldn't read much into his reports. I'm sure Pep would continue at Bayern.

What is clear is that City are in a much better position to land Pep than united by any measure. They have been working very hard on him for 3 years now

What position do you hold in the City boardroom?
Chief Daily Mail holder?

Quite a few journo's have been saying for the past 3 years that City have been working hard on him. Recent reports all claim MCFC officials are very confident of getting him. Very few and mostly speculative reports linking him to United. No need to hold a position in the boardroom

If Guardiola is out of the picture, then United face a fight for Ancelloti with Bayern lurking

I would think that Bayern might go for Joachim Löw after the European Cup. But that would just be a wild guess.

Joachim Low or Carlo Ancelloti? It's a no brainer tbh. Joachim Low has done great at international level but his club record is not very good

Was that from 'Shoot!' ? Seem to recall Greaves having a column in that for a time.

Yeah, there was plenty of anti-Ferguson feeling at the time with banners, chants and demo's. He was gone after that third round tie at Forrest if Utd had gone out. (Whatever the narrative is now out of the club on that. There wasn't a media outlet at the time that didn't have that as his last game.).

Mark frigging Robbins. I'll catch up with that little sod someday .....

Dont remember who organised it actually. I remember it was before a match ...

Oh well, that means it's a certainty then.
It also means United are buying bale, Neymar and Ronaldo!! (journo's said it after all).

KAA Gent v Vfl Wolfsburg
AS Roma v Real Madrid
Paris Saint-Germain v Chelsea
Arsenal v Barcelona
Juventus v Bayern Munich
PSV Eindhoven v Atletico Madrid
Benfica v Zenit
Dinamo Kiev v Manchester City

BOAH. :D

Seems like Wolfsburg will not stop until the final.

Midtiyland. Minimal tickets in a tiny stadium and a **** of a place to get to.

Unlucky anyone travelling.

Midtjilland:

1. A team easily thrown out of the CL by local Cypriot team APOEL (much easier than the actual scores would suggest).
2. A team which threw Southampton out of the Europa League.
3. An awesome team to have a save with in FM16.

Dont think a collective number of journo's ever said that you were buying any of those afromentioned players together at the same time. Also as with most journalist reports, there are some accurate and others not as accurate. But many have mentioned that City have been working hard to get Pep which is no surprise as executives who have worked closely with Pep are in the boardroom. Rumours have gathered pace recently as Pep is nearing the end of his contract at Bayern. Plus City have the resources and the team to attract Pep

So it is fair to say that they are in a stronger position to attract Pep than United. But if you want to continue deluding yourself otherwise then go right ahead especially if your counter arguments are going to be just giving examples of the most extreme footballing rumours to somehow attempt to tar the entire journalist profession as unreliable idiots

Rumours which ironically have been planted by United themselves who are right now reportedly briefing journalists that they expect Pep to head to another English club

Never commented on the position, obviously they would be leading the race considering the team they have.

Pep Guardiola at the head of the City machine is genuinely a cause for concern. The only thing they lack to genuinely elevate them into a European powerhouse is a world-class manager which they will get if Pep arrives

City officials convinced Guardiola is coming at the end of the season

Cant fathom what United are doing. If it was a straight contest between United and City, pretty sure United will win as Guardiola likes to be seduced by history and traditions of a club. With Bayern making overtures for Ancelloti, no idea who United will go for now

Which one it is mate.
