Adidas is happy with the arrangement. They are getting more than expected sales. They did mention that the play style wasn't pleasing, but they were happy with the arrangement.

But it's a mute point. Sponsorships should not influence a football team beyond the shirt design.

Says a lot when our club is based more around business, commercial and sales than the football we are playing or the results themselves. As long as the money continues to be generated why make any football based decisions, hey? Probably cost us top 4 again and will not be surprising.

I appreciate the knock on Serie A, which had a question mark against him from myself. But he was immense on the biggest stage of all in Europe last year. Arguably MoM the European Cup final in defeat. And as you noted, already the key player of a very talented Les Bleus team.

Yeah I agree, I think he went to Italy at the perfect time to develop, You can argue that a few years back when he went the Italian leaguewas not great but it is improved this season IMO. But yeah he had freedom to make mistakes and learn from them but also still had the pressure of must winning the title and 2 great teachers in VIdal and more notably Pirlo who to me is a god, it kind of was the perfect storm for him.
 
Pogba is good like already mentioned but he is definitely overhyped as well, it's too early to put him near the top until he has shown himself in a better league.

I've not been totally convinced by him in Serie A either to gratify all the applause and praise he has been supposedly getting. I mean take a look at this season so far:

17 Serie A appearences, 4 goals, 3 assists - Nothing special considering the team he plays for and the league.

In all competitions:

24 appearances, 5 goals, 5 assists. Again it's reasonable but nothing special. Yes I know you can't tell all by stats but I really don't think he's as good as people are making out. He'd still easily be someone United would want now but that's not saying much.

Whenever I've personally watched him in Champions League or World Cup, the so called biggest stages, I've never been blown away to say stuff like he's up there with the current best in the world.

Considering the type of player pogba is, and the position he plays, I'd say 5 goals and 5 assists in 24 games is a pretty good return.

How many players in our league that play in the same position or style have anywhere near that?

I see pogba as more of a ball winner and a box to box type player. Looking at our own team, if fellaini had 5 goals and 5 assists at this point in the season we would all be saying he's undroppable.

You can criticise the league but he's on course to end the season with 10 goals and 10 assists. I'd say that's a pretty good return for the type of player pogba is.
 
Pogba is basically like fellaini but with more technique, vision, dribbling, long shots.

Ambiguous stats without context are so superfluous.

You read what zz posted above, and it looks like A N Other run of the mill midfielder. But you watch him with the one thing that doesn't lie, the eye test, and you'll appreciate all the other things he does and how he elevates the whole team around him when he's in the park.

Like you could do the same with Martial as a thread example. Stats in isolation and the spread between them you could make an argument that he's struggled in his early career here. Watch the games and the difference he makes to the side and you get a completely different picture.

All down to personal perception but Pogba's well on his way to becoming a modern day midfield great for me.

Stats are great and I am a big advocate of them but one thing that stats fail to show is how dynamic he is, and like you say what it does to the team around him. It is his sheer physicality and athletisicm that allow him to do that but when you add in just how technically gifted he is (Subtle showed me an assist the other day with his supposed weaker foot was brilliant) he is just a dangerous player.

I have been digging around in stats whilst taking small breaks from my nursing exam revision, he has created 24 chances this season and is averaging 1.8 key passes a match, vidal averages 1.9 in a team that is steamrolling the Bundesliga. Think that is a fair comparison for a yardstick. I do not know which site some of the guys use on here for comparisons which give that really nice graphic, if someone tells me it and we can agree on fair comparisons I will post a pic of it as I am at my laptop. I think Vidal is the obvious one.

As an all round player, it's hard to find a better one than Pogba for me... shame he's at Juve!

Where is this coming from? You brought up how Adidas mention that they don't like the football we are playing, and I mentioned that they did say that but were happy overall due to better sales then expected. Nothing to do with how Man Utd are run besides sponsorship shouldn't influence the club besides how the shirt looks.

You need to calm down with the doomsday talk seriously. You're sounding like a spoilt child being a glory hunter. If you want trophies and success every year go support Bayern or Barcelona until they don't win a trophy one year and then move onto the best team at that moment.

Who are we going to get in to replace LVG right now? Jose? **** that. Plays defensively like LVG, turns the media against the clubs, alienates good backroom staff, constantly talks nonsense and will spend even more money to get the team he wants instead of working with the current team with a few additions. Not to mention if we get Jose in we lose any chance of getting Pep.

What about Giggs? **** no. Inexperienced. No idea how he'd set up the team, no idea if it would work. Way to risky. Plus imagine one of our legends taking the helm and ******* it up royally. Would be devastating for him and the fans.

Brendan Rodgers or Rafael Benitez. Liverpool rejects? No thank you. Rodgers just flat out no. and Benitez would play boring football like LVG.

Only other manager with a good history is Julen Lopetegui. But I know nothing about him so idk.

Fair point, like I say he's no doubt good I just find it hard to put him in the top bracket without seeing him in one of the better leagues and him doing it week in/week out at higher level. I mean I think we can all agree Serie A is nothing like the league it used to be, I'd even fancy Rooney to do decent there.

These run of results have been up there with our worst as a club prior to the last two wins (which have been very lucky lets be honest and have not seen any signs of improvement of play). No elite club (arguably any premier league club) would of accepted this and the manager would of been well and truly gone by now. Just look at the performances and lack of goals with a team he has assembled with £200m+ (not counting money that has been brought in from departures).

I don't really know what you're trying to get at because there is no longevity with LVG anyway because we know he retires season after this one so what's the point in sticking with him? Philosophy not working, damaging the brand of the club in the way we play football under him and no signs of improvement.

Ok, we can bring up the 'who is there' debate to replace him with but honestly right now what do we have to lose? Our projectory under LVG shows no certain sign of top 4 finish this season, if our way of playing is anything to go by we'll be lucky to finish top 7. Also this is totally forgetting about the Champions League failure as well.

There is going to be no one magically available in the summer that isn't now, if you want a manager that badly you have to go and get him. My opinion is we're too stuck on the commercial side of things and as long as things are going well we shall delay any decision. But at the same time we are trying to keep our image of not being a sacking club, but when the run of results have been as bad as they have been and the style of play, there is no other decision to make but to get rid of the manager.
