The Manchester United Thread

Even Fellaini has looked impressive tonight, what is this sorcery? Is it because Giggs isn't here?? Idk!

Same team played game just 3 days back, this game is already won but no subs till now.

Perfect time to give some mins for Pereira.

Sadly that's too much to ask for, another Pogba situation happening here it seems.

Some interesting stats, for all the Arsenal hype they have scored just 6 more goals than United and now gone 3 league games without scoring (2 at home)

OMG, PEREIRA IS COMING ON, REJOICE, SHOULD OF BEEN MUCH LONGER THOUGH INSTEAD OF IN THE 88TH MIN. >.>

It's weird when your talisman is injured or just playing really ****. Whole team sinks down usually.

Total domination, not much else to say. Stoke had absolutely ******* nothing.

Also CBJ gonna be quite a player in a few years. Solid defensively, cool head, has **** of a cross in him too. He doesn't have half a muscle on his body, and still holds his own really well against adults. Give it a few years when he matures and toughens up. Between him and Shaw, LB position is sorted for the next decade.

Good performance from the whole team. And actually very good to watch for a change. Goals, attacking play, chances the lot. interesting that this is our lowest possesion stats of the season i think but we have looked our best tonight. Really impressed with CBJ again. And nice to see Darmian showing his early season form, cant believe how many posts on different Forums saying hes not Utd quality :O

Read somewhere today Shaw could be back end of March which would be great news add to that Tony V coming back, we wont be short at FB anymore.

Some rumours that Giggs is about to be appointed as Celtic manager.

Some troll account on that twitter **** posted it about 40 times in a row and gobshites started passing it about.

He's ill.

Manchester United 3 Stoke City

Manchester United kept in contention for a top-four Premier League place and gave manager Louis van Gaal a rare night of relaxation as Stoke City were outclassed at Old Trafford.

Wayne Rooney is hitting peak form at a perfect time, Anthony Martial can be the real deal and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson impresses again

The England forward struck early in the second half, minutes after having a “goal” ruled out for offside, to record the 244th goal of his remarkable United career. In his sights is Sir Bobby Charlton’s club record of 249 goals and, with Wayne Rooney now having scored seven in seven games, that record should be broken this season, with United having 14 league games to play plus a minimum of three more in two cup competitions.

More relevantly, if Louis van Gaal is to emerge from this trying season with silverware in a cup or, more importantly, a top four finish and place in the Champions League, Rooney needs to maintain this form. Roy Hodgson, eye on the Euros, will surely have had a smile on his face while watching Match of the Day after the game.

I haven't commented but I need to comment...superb performance....we dominated the game despite having less possession. Proves that possession doesn't mean jack ****. Scored some superb team goals. Rooney and martial simply brilliant and Mata orchestrating the attack. He had a hand in all the goals I believe. Best performance since that Goodison win. I hope this can be something of a confidence booster to spur a run of form.

Saw some tweet that in 2016 Rooney scored 6 league goals, Arsenal scored 4.

Long may it continue.

Also Arsenal haven't scored in 3 league games.
Liverpool haven't scored in 300 mins (in all competitions).

I'm liking Martial as left winger/Left wing forward, he has so much space to run at defenders. Playing as #9 he was playing with his back to the goal, now he is attacking the goal.

His pace, dribbling ability is used well playing wide. He needs to improve his shooting technique. He just can't generate any pace at all, his shooting from distance is worse than Sterling. Apart from that he has no weakness at all.

Yeah Martial needs to be a winger and run at people. Unfortunately this also means that Memphis has a big ******* problem.

It was a great performance. The only thing I'm worried about is playing Chelsea next. I'm 99.99999999% sure that LVG will have us playing the same old boring ***** against them. Don't get me wrong, I'd take a point now away at Chelsea. They seem to be finding their feet now Mourinho has gone and could well go on a long run and get right up there. If they beat us, that puts them only 9 points behind us.

Im just hoping if we do go back to the play it safe football, its for the Chelsea game only. But if we do play like that in that game, we better get something from it or the pressure will be right back on LVG. Fans will want to know why we can perform like last night (against a very good Stoke team), and then revert to type. A lot of fans wont think of the reasoning behind playing like that away to Chelsea. A lot will just jump on the boo train again.

Basically what im trying to say is, by all means, do what we have to do to get something from the Chelsea game, but let that be the exeption rather than the rule. Please lets not make one fantastic performance against Stoke become the exeption.
