The Manchester United Thread

Oh, lol, that was great finish by Martial, didn't see a shot coming let alone a goal. LVG's United for you.

Do you think any hope of top 4 is gone if we fail to beat Sunderland today? The only faint hope I had of our top 4 quest was if we won today, any other result meant top 4 was totally done for me.

Your best hope is like ours. The Europa league. Just you've not accepted it yet regardless of today's result. ;).

Excellent finish from Martial. Ridiculous to me that he's out wide and not through the middle.

Darmian may be out for a while, that looked like dislocated shoulder or something. United full backs are doomed this season.

Who else but Martial to spark United? This is why I defend Memphis little too much than I should. At least Memphis is running at defenders. Yeah, 19 times out of 20 he ***** up, but that 1 time United looks dangerous. Much better than making 19 ******* back passes.

Moving Giggs to the U21 role would be absolutely terrible, for him and the club, it literally puts him further away from ever having a shot to manage United.

Why for the club? he's not ready to run the senior side.

Martial is out wide where he can isolate and destroy a defender, which is what he did for the first goal. Will eventually become a brilliant all round 9

Considering our squad and Europa league, that will be a bigger hindrance than the CL for those clubs above us who have them matches to play this season. I can't see us getting top 4 in any way, shape or form.

Having said that I still think teams above us will drop more points, but I can see us dropping just as many, that's the problem. We have no consistency.

He was pretty bad tbf, Idk what has happened to him. When he first came I had real hope.

This is a huge weekend for all in the top 5 and could effectively finalise the final standings. Even if we win, we will be 3 points behind 4th for only a few hours. So, honestly, I see us just missing it, if LVG continues his stupid tactical decisions. Although i do feel sorry for him with Valencia, Young, Jones, Shaw, Darmain again seeing as he just went off), Varela, Fellaini, Basti and whoever else I forgot to mention.

On another note, with Darmian going off injured again with what could be fractured/broken/dislocated, LVG's "decison" to not get a fall back in the window could be very costly. I personally hope he gives Varela his chance (after he has cone back from an injury).

It wasn't a decision, they couldn't seal a target.

When you're in a situation like this not getting the business done is very costly though, if you miss out on top 4 you can see all these reasons being pointed to as part of the problem. (Not as big as the LVG problem but still significant).

Which goes back to the summer and lack of CB/striker as well, but we shouldn't get into this again, as we all know this by now.

What exactly is he supposed to do? He couldnt have forseen injuries to every single one of our full backs. Weird to even remotely blame him for that

Exactly. You're left playing 4th line of backups at this point, nobody can prepare for that much of bad luck.

I didn't say I did blame LVG solely for this, did I? I blame him for the way we play on the pitch but I never pointed him out as the single reason for this fullback problem in my post.

But lets be honest, we've only scored 2 more goals than a side like Sunderland this season and Rooney was utter **** up until January. We only had him/Martial/Wilson going into a 4 competition season, that was a massive mistake. We have lacked goals all season. Rooney has come back on the boil a bit since January which has helped but ultimately still isn't enough.

Imagine what happens if Bojack Crossman gets injured. You'd be left playing reserve players of u21 team. Ridiculous.
