The Manchester United Thread

That is sooooooooo tired mate. From YOU I expected better.

After finally hearing Van Gaal's high pitched ****** voice the car park ('Louis Van Gaal's red army' ..... Just HOW did I miss that absolute comic gem?) the weekend; I thought that was a tamer option.

Some people will always refuse to accept that we produce good players regardless of the evidence. God knows why.

The full review and restructuring will eventually produce a solution to the current issues with recruiting in the youngest age groups. That's inevitable. We're massively wealthy, so one way or another within a season or two we'll have found a way to stop City nicking these kids from under our nose. It won't hurt that the first time I've seen City play any number of youngsters in a game in their Abu Dhabi era they got battered by Chelsea, or that their U21 side is almost entirely full of foreigners bought within the last year or two. They can offer financial incentives all they like, but sooner or later the parents of British kids who want a future in football will notice that City haven't done anything for a single one.

Meanwhile, we're giving more minutes by far to homegrown players than any other PL side bar Spurs, and those youngsters are impressing. If thrashing smaller sides like Shrewsbury and Midtjylland doesn't do it for you, Varela, Lingard and CBJ have also impressed in tougher games against the likes of Chelsea and Stoke.

From what I've heard its already being dealt with. Also it won't be highlighted in the press but there are a few lads in our much younger age groups who have left City to join us and who are extremely highly rated and have been among the players of the tournament in some big underage youth tournaments. City are already starting to have problems with keeping players happy with their approach of mass recruitment and have lost a few players recently because parents aren't happy with their treatment and there's a growing feeling that a lot of players are being brought in based on reputation rather than being better than whats already there. While this story is probably mainly players stalling for better deals these type of stories are only likely to increase

Just seen this on another Forum about ours and Citys academy. Sounds all is not well with our noisey neibourghs super academy.

Lmao, LVG brought the hammer down in the Arsenal presser.

Journo: "Your results are very inconsistent"
LVG: "Manchester City lost 5-1 against Chelsea"
Journo: "That was a second team"
LVG: "Oh a second team? And what I'm doing now then?"

Brilliant.

Haha. that's pretty great.

Careful with FTD mate. We had that in your absence and learn't in here that fan channels and their opinions aren't worth a ____

Utd don't employ full time scouts? Wow. I find that staggering.

The entire system was in the Chief scouts head, till Moyes gave it an overhaul, and got the ball rolling according to most reports.

Did I read that right that there was no scouting system before Moyes?

That can't be right surely?

*Edit* BTW, good luck tomorrow. May the best team win. Fixing to be a top class game for the first major final of the season.

David Moyes overhauls Manchester United scouting system ahead of summer splurge - Manchester Evening News

When he was boss at Everton, Moyes created a bunker-style room at the club’s Finch Farm training ground packed with technology and information on players.
The detailed research and knowledge enabled Moyes to build clear pictures of the kind of target he was chasing and who would be monitored ready for serious consideration in the future.

It is understood that when he arrived at United, his predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson’s system and research wasn’t as detailed and the key information was allegedly in chief scout Jim Lawlor’s head rather than an easily accessible database for the backroom staff.
While the system suited Ferguson, it left Moyes playing catch-up when he officially took over at United last July.

Quite a few places, ran the same story from multiple sources at OF/Carrington
