You really don't need to get all aggressive on me. Please chill for a bit. Yes, at this point we can say he failed his job in most parts, but it wasn't complete collapse like under Moyes. You currently don't have better alternative. Like it or not, he's here for the rest of the season unless he loses the players.

This team isn't bad, but the problem is, it's lacking the leader in attacking segment. It's hard to put all the weight on a 20 yo kid in his first season in a foreign land. A lot of players aren't pulling their weight. Yes, it is his fault not to get better players, but you can't blame VG for L'pools second goal, it was mix of Memphis giving up on tracking down Firmino ( or Lallana, can't recall), and comical reaction from our defenders. Half of them are makeshift/out of position. Again, when it comes to personnel, it is his fault for not getting someone better, but some of the stuff where United fail are basics. And if players don't understand basics, it's hard for him to learn anything else correctly.

I think more than anything right now United need a manager to come in and rebuild a style/identity like Pochettino done at Spurs.

Woah hold the phone, how am I being aggressive? I'm simply just making my points, not using any offensive language or anything.

Dude I take your point, but honestly, Memphis has been costing us goals with his sloppiness all season, in a big game like this if you pick him you run that risk again.

Also I really hate how people think that having a 'leader in an attacking segment' (I'll just assume you mean Rooney) will make all a difference to that performance we saw tonight for example, or any other poor performance for that matter? None of our attacking players were even in the game, apart from defensively lol.

But even if we roll with the theory that having a leader like Rooney in the attacking sense would make us better, it doesn't make sense because our dreadful run of form stemming from christmas onwards has consisted with him very much part of the side. Rooney has been poor this season anyway, not even adding that as well.

About leader part, well in-form Rooney from 4 or 5 years, yes. He could carry the attack. You need someone who can create chances for others, but also for himself. Mata is good at one thing. Same as Martial. Memphis should have been good at one, and decent at other. But he fails both criteria most of the time. Having individual player who can get others in the game is what United lack in attack. Now, teams just double up on Martial and no one else is a threat in a attack. This is where we lack a player.

Yeh I understand where you're coming from man, unfortunately though I don't think Rooney is that great player he once was anymore to get us back to the top.

Oh most certainly! I've been on 'sell Rooney' boat since 2011/2012. Time to get new face of the franchise. At least till Martial gets there.

He was absolutely livid during the post-game reactions. Looked like he was about to burst into tears. Tore into LVG and the players.
 
That was just garbage. I know we often play poorly at anfield, but that was just pathetic.

I'm still skeptical of Jose but I'd take him over LVG at this point if I'm being honest and I do believe I speak for all united fans

Deserved win for Liverpool and expected performance from United. Lot of mistakes from manager in a single game.

Anyways he will stay till end of season so not arsed to go on a big rant about all mistakes.

Just a standard lock-in to disperse the home support and minimise any potential flash points the police do here. (And many places on the continent in Euro aways.). Not always the best tactic if you're an away fan trying to keep a low profile and just get home. But it's a pretty standard practice. Particularly in this game. (Although that's been getting less and less at Old Trafford the last decade which has been far more beneficial.).

Said it the other day in here. Priority #1 again for them has to be keeping him this summer.

The key single difference the last two years between Utd trying to get 4th or being a mid-table/ lower half the league team.

I obviously see far more of him than Neuer on a regular basis, but he's the best in the World for me. At the very least on the same plane as the German that only includes those two.

Absolutely phenomenal last night. His reactions are so quick. Difference between this tie not being completely over at 4 or 5. That said, Phil's miss was shockingly bad. Seen it described as a Worldie save but that's giving De Gea way too much credit and absolving Coutinho. That was a tap in and he puts it back across the face into the keeper. Terrible.

I'd guess the theory is it is easier to keep back a few thousand away fans than the anywhere from 40,000 to 70,000 home fans depending on the stadium

Di Marzio has said he is 100% signed up to man United. Guess we will find out soon enough.

If he is accurate (and he usually is) a) it means that Berta is likely to join and that b) Jose will already know two of his transfer targets
