The Manchester United Thread

If we win it will bring up further question marks such as: if we can beat teams like Chelsea, Man Utd etc away from home...then why can't we replicate such performances and results at home? To have such poor form at home yet play better away is wholly unacceptable. There is something inheritently wrong with the current philosophy from the manager down to coaching staff that needs changing. Because it does not work. And it cost us (potentially) European football. And the treatment of some of the players is affecting player morale aswell so man management needs sorting out aswell. Because if you have poor morale then it's obvious what happens

What a boring first half. That shot from Rojo sums it up nicely.

Rojo has been terrible...both offensively and defensively. Looks like Roberto Martinez is targeting blind. Blind has done well

I mean its obvious. we do good vs teams coming to attack us. we do bad against teams wanting to defend and counter attack. pretty straight forward. Teams come to Old Trafford more defensively then they do when we go to them.

Lukaku can get measured for his 16/17 kit while He's there ;)

Also been impressed with Schniederlin, just goes about his business shielding back 4 and has good distribution as well. Can't believe the stick he has got this season, were loads better with him in the team !!!!!!

Fosu Mensah is lvg's best sub in a long long time and we all know how awful van gaal is with subs

Solid win, but top 4 is gonna be a ***** as City seem to be picking up.

Aye.

Blind was awesome today. Lukaku is the kind of forward he should have a weakness against, but he had him in his pocket all day.

He did, but I wonder how much of that was down to tactics. At points they were just launching the ball and providing no support for Lukaku. But in fairness you can only play against what your playing against I guess and he had him pocketed all game. I would've had him or TFM for motm imo.

We got much better once we subbed off Carrick as well, thought he was pretty poor today and was one of the main reasons we struggled today in the first half. Both him and Rojo were very poor. Subs today bar the last were good decisions and changed the game for us.

Still don't think we'll take top 4 place as KDB back seems to have kickstarted City again, but guess we just gotta keep plugging away.

Van Gaal has done a lot of weird ****, but Blind at CB is a successful experiment. He may not be stellar everytime, but given that 99% of us expected him to fail, he proven naysers wrong.

Similar comments when he turned schweinsteger into a CM. People were like "his passing isn't good enough"

One biggest doubt I had with this experiment was his ability to deal with physical players. He did superbly against Lukaku and also against Benteke. So he is good with that but sometimes he is out of sync with the team. Not sure whether it's intentional or tactics. He pushes higher than anyone to win the ball back, something all best defensive units did in the past and also in the modern game. Shame rest of our team doesn't push like him.

Good experiment which might end if we hire Jose.

Agree on all fronts. We'd actually be better off if we pressed to his level.

Blinds biggest strength and also weakness is his versatility. Every club needs a guy who can play well in various positions but often they get overlooked when not needed as cover.

I'd happily use him as a DM, CB, LB when needed
