The Manchester United Thread

Pretty much. If that's what's actually going on, it's just in a bad taste, same as what's happening with Pellegrini. Whole lot of bruhahaha about how they're a club that supports managers, meanwhile new one is already doing deals on a corpse of a current one.

I think they waited as long as they could. But he's a been a dead duck for months to be fair

According to El Pais claims, Man United have to give Mourinho contract tonight or face £5m penalty. #MUFC http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/mourinho-to-sign-final-man-united-contract-before-midnight-accord …

Palmers big news is that Giggs or Neville will be on Jose coaching staff next season.

Hopefully both are not forced on to Jose. If he thinks they are good enough then only they should be hired. No point pushing coaches to Manager. It doesn't work like that.

Also about time we drop the romantics with Class of 92.

The tweet and the content doesn't match at all. Also didn't telegraph say that we have agreed deal with Jose few weeks back? Now they are saying ManUtd have opened talks with Jose just 3 days back.

Looks like everyone wants to throw their hat in the mix.

Theres been a supposed gentlemans agreement for months

This is about official contract talks. We'll see though....

A United spokesperson said: “The managerial situation is something we have not commented on and do not wish to do so now.”

I wouldn't be surprised if LVG stays, despite what other are saying, our board lack bottle to make key decisions and when they do it's often too late.

I can see same happening again here, thing is I don't even see what benefit we have of keeping LVG another season, what manager do we turn to after? Mourinho will be gone. There won't be any other stand out candidates left next year like there is now.

He will be gone mate despite where we finish or if we win the cup. To many people saying so and reliable ones to. His interviews lately blaming this and that on the club tell me he has been told. Fans not turning up to matches and renewing season tickets. And there was a fan video with LVG for Cheverolet and it was a disaster, with the fan saying he only liked LVG when he was winning and not very much. LVG then continued to make the fan feel very uncomfortable and awkward. Did not go down well ( will post it later ) add to that the clubs statement I posted above. They was soon quick to deny the Pep talk. Add to that numerous times Mendes has been in Manchester lately. And Mou being very quite on the whole thing which is defining to me.

He is, but take a look what announcing new manager earlier did to City players. They looked disinterested in the league basically since January.

Manager is a God Almighty until the day he is fired, dealing behind his back undermines his authority in the critical part of the season. That's terrible way of running things.

Anyhow, far as I'm concerned media are basically blowing up smoke and Mourinho is about as confirmed as Sneijder's used to be. Maybe he comes, maybe we doesn't but we don't really know anything for certain.

You're getting annoying with criticizing the board every post.

You'd probably be saying the same when Alex Ferguson took over and didn't win a title for a few years. Knee jerk reactions tend to end up bad, and sacking LVG when he we had our slump in Dec/Jan might have caused more trouble than good.

This season isn't even that bad considering how bad it could be. Just look at Chelsea. We're in the final of the FA cup, we can realistically get 4th, even 2nd if results go our way...

I agree. But then we've been playing. So badly it's made no difference. Whereas City were in a really good place. He wouldn't be getting fired if we had been in city's position pretty guardiola

I really hope fosu-mensah sitting on the bench doesn't have anything to do with the penalty he gave away vs everton. That shouldn't have even been a pk ffs. I hope it doesn't harm his confidence.

doubt it's anything to do with that. And it was a peno. He's had things going on in his personnel life. Most probs just giving him some time out.

Memphis being offered for sale by the club. Reported by Simon Mullock, same journalist who broke the RvP being made to train alone story.
