The Manchester United Thread

2 hours between finding and destroying a device is fairly quick when you take into account the need to confirm the item is suspect then to get hold of bomb disposal (there are only a small number of units to cover the whole of the UK) and to get things in place to explode the device, I've seen bomb disposal guys at work and it isn't a case of go in put down explosives and set it off they have to make sure that everything is safe before they sort it. Ok so if it was real a terrorist could have detonated it earlier but nine times out of ten they won't be near a tv/radio or any other electronic device as they can just as easily cause the bomb to not detonate or go off too soon.

If the person is part of a terrorist group, do you not think others in their group wouldnt have been watching the game on tv to see their plan work? It was all over sky at around 2:45pm that the satdium was being evacuated with a code red alert. Wouldnt the bomber be contacted by somebody and be told that its been found and to detonate it asap?

If the authorities would have been informed of a security drill taking place on the wednesday and it is more then likely to be a device left from that. Im willing to bet the course of action would be a lot different. But the club kept quiet to save face by the looks of it. But now the real story has come out its backfired.

Not sure whats your point. The fact that they activated all these evacuation procedures and abandoned the game due to something that turned out to be a training device is embarassing in and of itself. Glad to see security at OT is vigilant but this should never have happened in the first place.

Probably the most dangerous OT has been for opposing teams all season. Theatre.
I take it you've never seen one of these training devices they look very ordinary and, 9 times out of 10
your average person would ignore it which is probably what did happen during the pre game sweep (even trained soldiers are guilty of missing such things at times). However, the club should not be the ones to carry the can rather it's the security company which left the thing there which are at fault. The club did everything correctly once the suspected device was found by contacting the GMP who then followed the correct procedure for any type of unidentified device. The only thing the club is guilty of is allowing aless than perfect security company to work on it's property.

The authorities would have known all about the drill but like I said these training devices look pretty ordinary they do not have the words bomb written on them that would make it too easy.

It was supposed to have been a mobile phone with wires coming from it attached to a pipe in the toilets. Some can look ordinary, especially if they are disguised or dont look out of place in the surroundings. But obviously this did. A fan having a **** seen it. It should never have got that far from Wednesday till Sunday. A **** of a lot of people havent been doing their jobs properly if thats the case.

So one person having a **** saw it but how many others having a **** before didn't.

That depends coz as far as i know it was in one of the boxes in one of the quadrants. It wasnt in a toilet in a normal part of the stadium that hundreds of people would have been in and out of. For all we know that was the first person to go in there, or maybe the first person to use that specific toilet/cubicle.

Either way I still dont get how it goes from Wednesday to Sunday undetected, then a fan having a **** finds it. The security firm in control of it should be sacked. They must have had a list of devices they took with them. Even just a number. When they removed the devices at the end and did a count, they would know theres one missing. Its ironic how a security firm in this business cant even keep track of their own bombs and find them. Idiots.

Now that about the security firm is acceptable probably safe to say the contract for security at the stadium will be canx not just by the club but by the authorities who took part in the drill on Wednesday.

That company is as good as gone. Their contract will be canned and the inevitable lawsuit will be of massive proportions I'm sure.

CBJ to be called up for the Euro u19s championships in Germany. Will miss pre season though if I have my dates right.

Roy Hodgson: "Rashford's one of the contenders, the competition for him is strong but he deserves to be selected."

Apparently he's been given assurances about the coaching staff next season. Ibra and Mou I can't believe :) Kermit frog gif needed! :))

He's obviously been told Mou will be manager as he admitef he knows who he will be playing for, but could not say atm.

1) Stop scouting Sane etc and telling people, make the ******* offer (he's ace by the way)

2) LVG can't be in charge if he's been offered the official contract and he says he knows where hes going. he hates LVG
