The Manchester United Thread

This is getting uglier by the minute.

Someone has definitely told them this. I think it's true, Taylor is very good at that. But this smacks of players and people at the club wanting to bury him now he's gone.

I guarantee you it's Mendes leaking all this ****. Gotta prepare cozy landing for Jose. What a mess, this is becoming Moyes sacking 2.0

Somebody in the club deserves to be bitchslapped with elephant ***** for failing to control the whole thing.

Im a bit late to the party but I'm happy to have at least gotten a trophy out of all this mayhem!

I dislike this.

Give the man a ******* break. He won the FA cup. Stop giving him such a ******* hard time.

I think it's Giggs. In the same story, you are hearing how the players would have preferred him to Mourinho?

Now that I 100% dont buy.

I'd imagine some fringe players might have preferred him since he's less likely to do a full clear out. But yeah, that striked me as odd.

Plenty of bits in that piece seem out of place to be honest. Like the one about wide players being forbidden to run at people. Running at people without waiting for full backs is all Martial and Memphis ever did since the day they arrived.

One thing is certain though - the whole club is organizational shambles and a lot of the players are total primadonnas. Not watching videos of your mistakes because your feelings may get hurt? Jesus, are these people professionals, or pub league players.

With Mourinho and Mendes on board, get ready for some wacky spending. Mourinho will want players, Mendes will want to help him, United will support Mourinho and players will be signed for high fees. United will be title candidates again, Mourinho could get a trophy, and Mendes gets all the cash he ever dreamed of. Everybody wins.

At least until the third or fourth year, when the inevitable downfall begins as it always does. That's when the results will start to falter, internal conflicts will happen, and Mourinho eventually leaves the club to whatever poor ******* is left to pick up the pieces.

But hey, I could be wrong! :)

In any case, I'm glad it's summer so I can pick a new team to follow. I thought I was watching professional club, turns out I was watching bunch of touchy schoolgirls.

Any other season and I would have agreed with you but now we have Pep who will be doing the exact same thing at City with CL football to offer as well. In fact, I think this would be the first season in a long time where joining City is a more attractive proposition than joining United for most players

Could I make a case for following Chelsea? :P

Yeah, I think people are way overestimating Mourinho's magical pull on players. If this were 2010, sure, people would be tripping over each other to play for him. But now? City will definitely be more exciting for players this season. Chelsea with Conte shouldn't be far behind too. ****, even Liverpool can probably put up a fight for some transfers, considering Klopp is genuinely likeable character while Mourinho is the opposite. Even the Professor seems to be willing to spend this season, and he has CL football to offer.

Transfer window is gonna be a bloodbath.

Agreed. Well perhaps Mourinho can harness something from all the money we spent on players for LVG

They watch their videos tho. Where did you get that from. I remember when Gary Neville went into old Trafford to interview lvg personally. He said something about Tyler blackett watching his clips or something to better himself.

If he did that, I'm pretty sure the rest do.

Jason Burt and Ducker reporting this today, Di Marzio says its likely also-

Jose Mourinho is expected to make Paris St-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic one of his first signings as Manchester United manager as the club prepare to confirm in the next 72 hours that the Portuguese has succeeded Louis van Gaal.

Jorge Mendes, Mourinho’s agent, is due to leave China on Monday with a view to arriving in England the following day to finalise the personal terms of the former Chelsea manager’s contract with United’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward.

I'm confused, it's not like I said United will be the only club to buy players. You missed the point it seems.

Holy ****! The Guardian reporting a minimum £150 Million spend. It's definately true.

Key points:
Mata may be sold
United wanted Alex Sandra and Paul Pogba but were quoted £116 Million for each
United want Portuguese midfielder Gomes who would cost £40 Million
João Mário another Portuguese midfielder would cost at least £27 Million
The places of Schweinsteiger and Carrick could be under threat
United want Stones who would cost £40 Million+
Garay is a backup option also represented by Jorginho Mendes
United are trying to nick one of our transfer targets Alvaro Morata who would cost £40 Million
Icardi is a fallback option for Morata

Apparently Ralph Honingstien said on German radio that Utd had already started talks with Abameyang and Sane. Can't find anything though.

With all that money spending incoming. Am I the only one thinking about FFP rule? Not only United but City also. There must be some danger in that. That means needs some selling. So who do you see going?
Mata for sure? Maybe someone else?
FFP has been scraped mate! BBC reporting that LVG arrived earlier than usual this morning.

Imagine United still under LVG's management going into this transfer window. Highly doubt anyone would want to play for them. At least under Mourinho, they got a fair chance to attract big players.
