The Manchester United Thread

To the soundtrack of "boring, boring Chelsea", yeah.

But I do like that the moment United started being linked with Mourinho, he was overnight transformed from world's best paid bus driver, to a shining beacon of attacking football who spend last 15 years bringing endless entertainment to stadiums around the world. Maybe you can bullshit yourself into believing it, but you're wasting your time trying to bullshit everybody else.

The man is a pragmatist, he doesn't give a flying **** about attacking football. Never did. All he cares about is the results. If he's confident that he can win, he will losen the chains and allow the players to attack more. Otherwise, long balls on Fellaini it is.

If he took over the squad with remotely similar attacking potential as 2010 Madrid, sure. But here inherits a team that was completely rebuild around possession football and grinding 1-0 wins. So if you think that he comes and the team is going to magically bang 100 goals a season without massive reinforcement of attacking talent, you're delusional.

Minus a CB, winger and a striker, the team already has the hallmarks of a classic Jose side. It's certainly achievable to fashion a suitable squad in a transfer window.

He was transformed into that if you worked off the media. And hadn't actually paid any attention to Ferguson. The only real deal difference is that Jose is a bigger shithouse. Simple as that.

One thing i know for sure is you dont know much about football but you try very hard to be knowledgeable with soundbites.

Your posts about Fergie is the best example.

José' team scoring goals and always in top 3 is not an opinion. Its a fact. I said he plays defensive against big team but scores a lot against smaller teams.

I love it as well. The sudden revisionist version being presented by United fans now that he is their manager is hilarious. Its okay though, we are all part of the same hypocrisy when it comes to football

Only problem with Jose is that at the first sign of trouble, he shuts up shop and starts to grind out 1-0 wins. It works well sometimes and other times it does not. I actually don't know if he truly is a better manager than the person we saw in his first stint at Chelsea although he does like to claim to the controrary. His first Chelsea team was simply magical and its a farce that they never won the CL

Saying his team always scored goals and in top 3 goals scored is not rewriting history. It's a fact and someone should be very dumb to deny that.

I dont think anyone on this forum said Jose's team played swashbuckling football like Fergie teams of old did, here people said Jose's team scores goals and plays much better football than Van Gaal's ManUtd team. Anyone deny that?

I wasn't aiming the post at you. More at United fans in general who have been criticizing him forever about 'boring' football and how his values do not align with that of United's yet have changed their tune. I always maintained that Jose plays attacking football when required and only shuts up shop against big teams or when team is in trouble

Jose will try and beat

Teams from 20th-10th = 3-0
Teams from 9th-5th = 2-0
Teams from 4th-2nd = 1-0

54 goals, 19 games. Decent return :p

(Dont check the math, its 1am and im knackered)

Chelsea scored 73 goals during PL title winning season 2014-15.

Meh, you are rewriting history and changing your opinions. Saying Jose's team scored goals means ManUtd fans changing their tune once Jose was linked with ManUtd no matter how factual that statement is.

What you on about? I may of never been the biggest advocate of Jose coming to United but I've never once said that reason was because his teams scoring lack of goals.

Check few posts above mate. Saying Jose team scores goals means it's ManUtd fans rewriting history.

I am a big fan of Jose's.Even then I wasn't very sure about him managing United but we should not forget the fact that he is a great manager, I would have preferred Pochettino but that doesn't blind me of the fact that Jose is a great Manager and will surely win us trophies and bring back the wins and the aura that was so symbolic of us.A many have said before me, Fergie had no problems parking the bus if it was necessary, so the football shouldn't be that much of a problem.(Not to mention that after the travesty that was this season, nothing can be more drab.)

This brings me to the other point raised against Jose:Youth Development
Jose does everything to win, we can't really blame him for that, this makes him less likely to play an 18 year old player who might be a good player in the future. But if the youngster proves to him that he is worthy of a spot in the team, he will have no hesitation dropping a senior player to play him, if he is better, it really is survival of the fittest with Jose.

Jose is here to stay, we might as well be optimistic about it

TWHW EXCLUSIVE: MANCHESTER UNITED LODGE OFFICIAL BID FOR OXFORD!
http://www.thewesthamway.co.uk/2016...clusive-manchester-united-lodge-official-big/

We can exclusively confirm (through ExWHUEmployee’s sources) that Manchester United have lodged an official bid for highly rated youngster Reece Oxford. There has been a lot of speculation in the press about this and we can reveal that an official offer in the region of £15mhas arrived at the club for Bilic to consider. This proves a tricky problem for the manager to face. The club had offered Reece a new deal but his agent has been gunning for more money and the terms have not been signed. Manchester United and their new manager Jose Mourinho are long term admirers of the talented youngster. Mourinho thinks that Oxford could be a perfect short term replacement for Michael Carrick or equally be able to slot into the defence (his natural position) this season especially in the Europa League.

Oxford has two years remaining on his current terms and it will be up to the manager Slaven Bilic to agree to the move. He faces having an unhappy youngster should he reject it (unless a change of heart happens) or he faces losing a highly talented youngster who will no doubt be a regular international player in a few years time. Should the bid be accepted this would bring better news for the likes of James Tomkins and Reece Burke who will see their major competition for a place leave the club and make their futures more secure.

Whatever happens with this deal and others make sure you check regularly with the West Ham Way and our ITK team for exclusive breaking transfer news. We have seen many websites and national newspaper claim our news as their own, we would urge you to quote the site as we seek legal advice on this matter.

As a site we hope that Oxford will chose to stay at the club as he has a great future, as do we as a club and the gulf between us and Manchester United is no longer as great as it used to be.
