The Manchester United Thread

With Zlatan and Mky signing I think between the 2 they got nearly 90 gls and 50 assists in all comps last season. Think that's sorted out a big chunk of our problem last season.

If it softens the blow, I do wish Old Trafford was like Westfalenstadion. You have a sea of yellow every time I get a chance to watch. Would be nice if Old Trafford was a sea of red.

Honestly, it was major disappointment experiencing it again the Europa League this year. It was a lot smaller and pre-Klopp transforming BVB the last time we went out there the Champions League and I was expecting to be blown away. But nothing could of been further from the truth and it was just ..... average and pretty quiet. I don't know if the Klopp return factor had anything to do about it, such reverence is he held in there, but it wasn't anything like it's made out to be. Shrugs.

All this transfer talk is making me want to fire up FM, its a shame I hate what the game has become! May just pop in town and get FIFA instead

They do sound a bit bitter. Kinda disrespectful as well. It's Man Utd. One of the biggest teams in the world, who have just hired one of the best managers in the world, and signed Zlatan. It's a step up from Dortmund despite no champions league.

Give them a break. Its not easy losing your best players every summer especially when they force moves to your biggest domestic rivals so often!

What's so bad about FM these days? Haven't played for a while. sad to hear because I was thinking of starting a save after being so inspired by the Italians in the Euros.

Regarding Fifa 16, I have that, it's alright but jeez the gameplay feels sloppily slow. I know gameplay speed was a problem before but they've literally gone the other end of the spectrum.

Still I enjoy Fifa for giving me a bit of footy satisfaction.

FM still as good as ever for me. I think it's gotten better since they have forced you to actually think about tactics now. Instead of just downloading a super ME cheat tactic that wins every game and scores 150 gls a season and your STR scores 70 gls. God that was dull!

BREAKING: Ryan Giggs leaves Manchester United after 29 years at the club: http://skysports.tv/F3RmYI

Happy to see the back of Giggs, great player and all but I never really trusted him behind the scenes.

Me and Tyton had this discussion in the gaming forum few weeks back, I just don't enjoy mate I seem to have had the same issues for the last few editions, like transfer AI just making ridiculous transfers both ins and outs, ME sick of my players kicking it out of play for a corner when its going out for a goal kick, theres little things like that. But then the big one is there is little strategy involved for me no more, you can basically buy whoever because its easy to snowball finances imo. And so long as you play a variation of 4231 or 433 that has a degree of football logic in it you can win easy. I mean when the game dropped with Leeds got first in championship first season, second season I finished second in the prem. Now the game should just not be that easy. I use toay the game to get a strategy fix but it just does not give me it anymore. I know people worship the game and every word that comes out of Miles mouth on here but the game is having a crisis of identity in my eyes and cannot decide what it wants to be.

on fifa not bought for while I was going to buy 17 though, is it slow? You could use to just speed up gameplay in the options but like i say not played for a while now.

In my eyes yes, Fifa 16 I am talking about but it feels like the life of it has been taken out. But I don't know you might like it but for me it is just too slow. I still play it regardless but I think they haven't found the right balance yet, I remember Fifa from 5 years ago where it almost arcade like so slowing it down a bit had to be done, however now it is like watching slugs.

But when I say slow I also refer to the aspects of moving the ball, even if your using tiki-taka style one touch passing that feels sloppy as well.

You really should perhaps give it a go, you may like it, I'm not finding it bad enough not to play, just think it could be better.

Its true that FM has become too easy and generally needs some major changes if FM17 is not to feel much of a sameness but with updated database.

Don't knock it. Come next May you can put aside your pain by grabbing your copy, changing this season, and making sure you finish above us. ;).

Just got round to watching Zlatan's interview on MUTV he seems confident of silverware to say the least. Also seeing that he broke some club records in his medical which is impressive to say the least considering he is 34

Assume one of those records was for heaviest wallet? :P

Are people seriously mouthing off fm 16 on an fm website?

Fm 16 is great. Don't know what you lot are on about. It's moderately difficult. I've experienced lots of upsets i.e, Brighton beating my full strength united side 2-1, Liverpool getting relegated (best thing I've seen till date) and stoke city winning the leagur.

More reports in Spain today that Zidane isn't keen on Pogba and thinks he will cause problems with his fee and wages. And sees Moderic and Kroos as his key midfield. And talk of Mata to Everton 21m pounds.
