The Manchester United Thread

Didn't you flip your **** couple of weeks ago, when I said that some cheesy internet story about some bloke watching Bailey since he was 7 , is probably made up? Back then you whined how can I accuse people of lying without evidence, but now it's "people lie all the time, haven't you heard"?

I think I get it now. Inconvenient news are automatically lies, convenient news are automatically 100% confirmed truth. Even if inconvenient news are coming from official sources, and convenient news are coming from a dog of friend of a chef who once cooked in a restaurant where janitor was a neighbor of Pogba's grandfather.
Dogs never lie so your argument is flawed massively ;) oh and please show me this proof of me flipping someone off. I may not agree with people post. But I don't flip anyone.

Juventus director can come out and publically say no offer has been made when there actually has been just to take a tougher stance in negotiations or something like that, to give them the edge. It has happened no end of times in the past, where someone from the club has come out said one thing and then the opposite has happened and their player gets sold.

Not saying there necessarily has been an offer but still. United wouldn't hang around for nothing if they really wanted Pogba.
Exactly, he will say whatever it takes to keep Juves hand as strong as possible. He is the reason they get such good deals. All we can do is be patient

Funny how you don't seem to be concerned with the possibility of lying, if it's random bloke on Twatter spreading positive news about imminent transfers.

Brilliant.

If it is a random bloke then I wouldn't care what they said. For a journalist they are less likely to lie as they have a reputation to protect where as Morratta doesn't have one based on honesty but, getting the best deal for his club. So on the balance of things I would guess he is more likely to be lying

I love how some people still come here to take snipes at others for no good reason and can't just have a reasoned debate...

A reasoned debate on fm-base...

Am I just being over critical or was Memphis really bad? The one thing that really ****** me off is when professional footballers can't do the simplest of things with their other foot. Why didn't he let the ball run across his body at tap the ball into the net on his left? Really winds me up that. Rooney does that a lot aswell. Always tries to get the ball on his right instead of taking a first touch with the left.

Also when mkhitaryan played him in. Ok the pass was maybe a bit too hard. But once Memphis got the ball, he took far to long to do anything. He could have played it first time. He could have took a touch and passed it back to the edge of the area. He got it and just ****** about till the box was crowded and got closed down.

He really needs to get his head out of his **** if he wants to stay. Going off today, I'd sell him now. If u can't let a ball run another yard and side foot into an empty net with your left, you don't deserve to be called a professional footballer

Brutal, like it. I agree totally, Memphis doesn't have the right attitude/mentality to be a success at United.

I don't think it's his attitude tbh. Look at his training, all his coaching trainers at PSV said his training is second to none. Plus his drive to be rated as one of the best was clear for all to see at PSV and when he joined the first 2 months. I thinks it's just a complete lack of confidence. The same could be said of many a player LVG signed. I'm not saying Memphis hasn't been a big disappointment so far. But he has shown he was good enough to play here for us. I think Mourinho will turn him around and give him his confidence back.

A lack of confidence? You seen the way he acts and talks and walks? It hardly exudes someone having a lack of confidence, quite the opposite in fact.

Well even if he is an excellent trainer, when he is on the pitch he just strikes me as lazy and someone who can make a hash of things at any given moment. Hence why he cost us a fair few goals last season with his mistakes. I don't think it will take long for Mourinho to realise he isn't the player for him. But lets see, if he gets this season, he needs to take it and perform well, but I seriously have my doubts.

Don't think Mourinho will sell him tbh. Seems like he's willing to give everyone a fair crack. Can't see many departures. Still think its confidence. Was very good first two months of last season and then was Van Gaaled like many of the new signings. Like you said we will see. But I think under Mourinho he can get back to his best. Don't think he was that bad today tbh.

Confidence in front of a camera doesn't have anything to do with confidence on the pitch.

Never watched the game like but reading Stevie Warnock was going through anything close to him in a Utd shirt.

Old habits die hard. :P.

Of course Memphis lacks confidence, he's been utter **** for nearly a year now. But his first 2 months were nothing to parade about either. He wasn't god **** awful, that's the extent of praise I can give for his United start.

Plus like it's been discussed before, where is Memphis supposed to play exactly? Martial on the left is unmovable, and between United and Monaco he had no issue playing well over 50 games last year. On the right Memphis is about as useful as a training cone hanging from a hot air baloon. Upfront he'd be a distant 5th choice behind Ibra, Rashford, Rooney and Wilson.

That doesn't leave much options for him I'm afraid.

Memphis had a decent start. I remember those early epl games, he was bustling with confidence on the ball with the occasional outrageous skill...I remember that first half against Newcastle where he tormented Jaanmat but his end product was meh...only thing I faulted was his decision making which is significant. He'd get himself into some great positions but fluff his lines...no he doesn't even look capable of beating an egg.

That said, Memphis could learn trade on the right. I would suggest he work on his crossing on his right...you know..take a page from young's book but then again, I think even Ashley young is ahead of him in pecking order on the right side.

But things aren't looking too good for him atm. If we get pogba then I think that'll probably kill his united career. I really want to see Memphis succeed at united...i really do.

Few papers reporting Lingard is gonna get s new contract. Hope so deserves it and can be a very good squad player.

L, Equipe reporting we have made contact with Fabinhos people about a move for him. Napoli have dropped there interest and Monaco are saying that they will honour the players wish to leave the club this summer.
