Just watching the Big Match De Brief on MUTV atm. Something quite interesting I didn't really notice yesterday tbh that they have just gone into is the amount of 1 and 2 touch passing and the speed of our passing. Didn't notice but having watched the match again and the De Brief is definitely evident how much 1 and 2 touch passing there was.

Agree but would be a serious bad move for him to come sit on our bench. I would not mind though to have him replace Rojo.

Fonte may be willing to accept that role in the hopes that he can win some more trophies before the end of his career as United have a better chance of that than Southampton do

Especially after tasting it with Portugal during the summer.

Surprised people are only just noticing Martial's dip in form, I know he's scored a few goals but since Spring I think he's had more bad/below average performances than good. Also surprised that people are only just finding out he cheated on his wife when that came out months ago.

Smith's goal yesterday really annoyed me because Martial was in airplane mode, he might as well have stayed in their half. If that was Memphis he would've been slaughtered by United fans.

Looks like Mou is gonna bring in Fonte according to a lot of sources. Pilib De Bruin says it could be done next week, same source who told him about Pogba and Bailly.

The same guy who said Rooney would start the season on the bench. Sorry but that guy is far from reliable.

Don't think he said Rooney would start on the bench. I'm pretty sure he said he would not be surprised he started on the bench and would be subbed more as the season went on.

Martial's 20. He's had what, one real season in France and one here. Tremendous talent, but like all young players there's going to be as many downs as ups. Same with Rashford. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him struggle this second year.

Football fans in general just don't give players time to breath now because they're breaking through and impacting younger and younger. The patience for development with all the problems along the road just isn't there any more.

No he definitely said he wouldn't start, because I remember someone asking him if Mata would start #10 & his reply was "I don't know, but it won't be Rooney''.

I know, but a lot of United fans don't seem to have that patience. Martial is already world class to many, never does anything wrong & is undroppable; while Memphis didn't set the league on fire last season so he'll never be a good player. It's ridiculous.

Plus he was playing with a few niggling injuries back end of last season. And Dechamp chopping him after a ok half when they were players playing worse than him stayed on.

Very true. Football has become very dangerously fickle like that.Too quick to hype a player too quick not to let him "breathe" when he is obviously developing. But we ve got Zlatan and Mou is already saying the young players flock around him. He ll help all our youngsters sooo much with stuff like this.

Had the Memphis discussion in here many times mate.

The **** he was getting last year was scandalous. Forget the fact he'd just left home for the first time in his life to move to a completely new Country and all that entails. Forget the fact he'd just made a massive step up from a minor league in comparison to the EPL. Forget the fact he was having to cope with all this at just 21 years of age in a bang average Utd team stifled by the negativity of it's manager. He cost £25 million **** it coming off a big season at the mighty PSV in the even stellar Eredivisie so he should be a superstar from the get go!

Some in here even wanted him sold the summer.

Ridiculous isn't the word mate these days.

Martial was poor and still got 2 assists. I'll have that return all day.

Great win for the u23s against an extremely experienced Liecster side beating them 1-0. Great winner by Sub Demi Mitchel lobbing the keeper from 25 yards after a De Gea like kick out from Jhonstone. The back 4 average age of 18 were fantastic and Big Sam in goal with some class saves. Impressed again by new signing Olesunde who was playing RW again despite being a FB.

Tbh I would rather sell Rojo. Save the fee for Fonte and promote Tuanzebe he's a beast already looks a class above u23 level. Shame for the injury last season. Really hope he gets some cup games this season.

Eh, no one would have a problem with Memphis if he just kept a low profile and focused on honest hard work. Instead he was showing off in brand new Rolls and banging 3rd grade gold diggers, to the point that Giggs out of all people had to reprimand him about his lifestyle.

If you act like you're hot ****, but done nothing of substance on the pitch, don't expect fans to have patience with you. People have patience with players who look like they're actually interested in improving their craft. If you cost 25 mil and the biggest headlines you make in your first year are of your exploits on the local celebrity scene, what kind of message does that send?

Contrast this with De Gea who came at similar age, struggled badly ,but he stayed humble, showed obvious talent and people stayed patient, helping him get where he is today.

I am not sure how in the world Zlatan will be of help to quell the media and fan pressure on young players ...

He becomes a lightning rod for the media, and his goals take the pressure off the young players dipping.

I distinctly remember De Gea SHAMELESSLY stealing a doughnut from Tesco when he arrived. Lad was a total loose cannon.

Not sure if this sarcasm, but it was obviously a misunderstanding which was established lol

And besides, he's a world class keeper, he saves at all costs!
