My dear fans, I appreciate much that you worry about me, thank you! I'm now back in Manchester for treatment and training hope to be fit very soon!!!
 
Glad to see big Sam and the FA have sent Shaw back to Utd to not risk putting to much workload on the lad. Great news can't risk him getting injured before the Derby!
 
Well, the only dampener is Ivory Coast are leading 1-0, and they've won every home AFCON Qualifier match whilst leading (9/9), so Bailly will be all but unavailable for a period in January/February.

Perhaps I slightly overreacted when I thought about it initially, ok he's been incredible for United so far, but Smalling/Blind was one of the best partnerships in the league last season.... so note to self; chill.
 
It's 1-1 with just under 20 minutes left Bailly could still be here in jan. Although the Ivory Coast side looks quit poor so don't think he would be gone for that long if he goes

To be fair there's a lot of big players missing from this line starting lineup (Yaya Toure, Bony, Gradel etc). I think Gradel may have been on the bench, but no idea as to why the others aren't there in what you'd thought was a crucial game, whether it be retirement/injuries/no birthday cake, I have no idea, and not overly arsed to look.. but I do know it's understrengthed to what's available to them, and I wouldn't rule out them going on a big run in the tournament knowing our luck.

It's actually to do with the number of club trained players United can register. He's going to play in the prem, especially post europe
 
Will be **** missing Bailly for the AFCON. But let's be honest we still have Smalling, Blind, Jones, Rojo, TFM, Tuanzebe and even Carrick to play at CB. Tbh I'm sure Williams or Warren could easily step up if needed, we will be fine. Plus Darmian can play there well.

I would love to see Jones get some rub of the green and have an injury free season, had plenty of hope for him, I remember in Fergie's last season he was superb in some important games when threw into midfield as a designated man-marker, and he performed it to in my opinion, bordering world class standard.

Really good read about an owner who pulled United out of debt in the 30's hired Busby and stayed involved with the club until he died in 1951 and his family for a while after. What the club is now owes a huge amount to him as he not only hired Busby, got a station built outside Old Trafford to make sure fans could get to it, helped get the stadium rebuilt after it was damaged by WWII and bought "the cliff" which produced a lot of talented players

Manchester United went international to beef up their academy - and the Reds' summer recruitment proved the club's youth system still has worldwide appeal.

Nicky ****'s revamp of United's academy has helped them beat off a strong competition to get forward Tahith Chong from Feyenoord and Nishan Burkart from FC Zurich.

And United's back-catalogue of successes was still the ace up their sleeve.

The 16-year-olds are now forming part of a new-look United academy squad.

And ****, himself a product of the Reds youth system as a member of the Class of '92, believes the pair have added strength to a burgeoning new group of youngsters.

“Bringing in Chong and Burkart was really the first time in a while that we have actually gone into Europe and bought players,” Nicky told M.E.N. Sport.

“Pretty much every club in this country was after those two boys.

“Tahith has everything you expect of a young player to became top level and so does Nishan.

“Both Nishan's parents are ex-Olympians so he has that in his blood. Tahith is 6ft one already, broad shoulders, a little waist. The pair of them are well built, perfect sizes, athletes.

“We have a good starting point with these two boys. They have good ability and really good self belief, which you have to have at this club.

“We are starting them at a higher level (than normal 16-year-old newcomers) to get them to the highest level rather than starting from a lower rung.

“We have to bed them into the club, into life around Manchester and knowing the club and building their bodies up so the step to Under-23s won't be massive for them.

“We then need to make sure the step from the 23s to the first team isn't massive as well. We are really positive about them two.

“But there are a load more we are excited about. It is a really positive group.”

**** was able to beat off the challenge from suitors around Europe for Chong and Burkhart because of United's long established reputation for providing careers for players.

“I showed their families round last year and told the about the club and the reaction was pretty much very positive straight away. They didn't want to go anywhere else. It was nice and refreshing,” added ****.

“Clubs can say anything they like to kids, they can sell it, we can sell it, but ultimately the facts are we give lads a pathway to a career here or elsewhere. Nobody can deny that. Nobody can say that is not true and we are spinning a yarn there and that doesn't happen.

“The stats are there. No other club in the country, or Europe, provides so many professional footballers to lower leagues.

“Last season I think 58 of our ex-academy players were playing in the championship and lower down. Not only that we also get our players through to the first team like Marcus Rashford.”​

I definitely wouldn't be dropping Valencia for Darmian. Solid defensively, beast going forward, and full of confidence.

I think Sterling plays wide right under Pep, Nolito has that inside left position stamped down. So it'll more than likely be Shaw v Sterling.
 
I would play Valencia. City will likely play Zabaleta and possibly Otamendi who will be in the same boat. Valencia seems very fit and I think he should be able to cope, especially if he gets midweek off
