The Manchester United Thread

Liverpool have looked the part so far this season whilst you should beat Burnley and Stoke who have been rubbish the Leicester and Chelsea games are toss ups really on what team shows up on the day, i would say 8 points would be good

To launch a serious title challenge, 8 points would not be good enough

Manchester City have superior and much more technical players, particularly when you take Pogba out of the equation in the red half (who Pep wouldn't have signed), he wouldn't have been as effective at Old Trafford as he is at the Etihad in my honest opinion.

Yeah, in the front they do; but possession football starts in the back, and Pep had to blow up $70 million on Stones and Bravo just to be able to do that. Meanwhile LVG's United pretty much already played like a Pep team on the first two 3rds of the pitch. They could build from the back, they were arguably the best high pressing team in the league and he'd have enough money to spice things up up front. United was a perfect set up for Pep. I'm sure Mourinho will pull it together at least for a while, but this is just ****** management nonetheless.

And I know City were courting Pepe for ages, but that's kind of the whole point. Organization of this size needs to have contingency plans, and at least keep in touch with top managers. Mourinho can be struck be lightning tomorrow, and then what, no backup plan? Seems like United suits got too used to the idea that manager is eternal and they're just making **** up as they go along with no longterm strategy whatsoever.

Here's my prediction of what will happen these next 5 games.
Leicester - Win :the champions aren't looking like the side they were last season.
Stoke - Win : Not the ideal start for Mark Hughes' side
Liverpool - Draw/slender win for either side: Wild card, really. They play wonderful football, but their defence is suspect.Wouldnt wanna get into a scoring contest with them
Chelsea - Mourinho style 1-0 win :A side struggling to settle into tactics, sound familiar?
Burnley - Confident 3-0/4-0 win

Not that you'd naturally know not having a need to watch L'pool games, but it's getting less suspect by the passing game.

It's s'he philoshhhophy.

I thought Jose said Rooney wasn't a midfielder or even a number 10 so why the F**k is he playing him there? I always said Jose was wrong and Blanc would have been a better fit but the board wanted a big name again and Blanc nor Simone were the name they wanted.

Fergie had dinner with pep, does that count?

Edit: Where is Blanc anyway?
edit 2:He is unemployed
Fun-fact: He remains Montpellier'a leading goal scorer!

Maybe it was our plan to get Pep.... we were interested for a long time but when City and their hierarchy became interested there was only ever going to be one winner. He has relations with the City hierarchy from his Barcelona days.

He said he wouldn't play as a no 6 or 8. That he sees him as a no. 9 or 10. Read up that whole interview

It would not hav made any difference Rooney would still have to play.

He looks more like a 14 or a 15 nowadays.

Lots of banter missed calls and texts to me for the past 3 hours. My Facebook is buzzing right now. God, I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow. A lot of my work mates are fans of either liverpool or city.

That's the best thing about not having 'unsocial' media accounts.
When you walk away from people, you ACTUALLY walk away from them :)

So, according to Mourinho, we've been losing because: bad refereeing decisions, bad luck and individual mistakes. That's like saying: "Hey, i got my tactics and my match selections right, but the referees and the players blew it."

God, i hate his post match interviews.

TBH he's partly right. He played the formation/team most people wanted. But for me it comes back to Fellaini and Rooney in the roles they played in CM which Mou has to take the blame for. What do you expect him to say when players are over hitting simple passes or not following there runners etc.

I have to disagree with you here. He bought a 100 million player to put him in a position where he's utterly unconfortable playing. Then, he choses a dull midfield with Fellaini and Rooney, and left players who can actually pass the ball forward, like Schneiderlin, Carrick, Herrera and Mata out. The team is over hitting simple passes because of Mourinho's choice to not have actual passers in the pitch.

It is not about his tactical choices, tho. I didn't expected him to get it right this early, as competent as Mourinho is. Just ****** me off seeing him always try to dodge the bullet. Furthermore, he looks delusional saying we didn't deserve the losses against Man City and Feyernoord, we we're *****. And mostly because he got it wrong at the derby.

It's too early to start burning players by saying they are not coping with the pressure.

What do you mean about Pogba he has played were he did at Juve in a 3 man CM the last 2 matches which is what we were all screaming out for. Like I said in my previous post the Fellaini and Rooney thing is completely on him! He hasn't tried dodging the bullet in interviews with other media especially on MUTV he has taken part of the blame which he is right to do. I for one am glad he's not happy with the players! Yeah we deserved to lose against City the better team but not in the manner we lost in the way the decisions went. We were **** against Feyernoord but still the better chances created draw would of been fair.
