..... Plus I read that about 79% of our attacks break down with Rooney on Squaka after the Northampton game. And he's not had an assist or a goal from a set piece in nearly three seasons.

Straight off the bat his cross set up Rashford's winner at Hull the other week IIRC.

Wasn't a set piece though. That was from open play. As was his cross to Ibrahimovic in one of the other games. Only one I can think of is the Derby when Bravo/Stones messed up but not sure if that actually went down as an assist. Even if it did, its not like he picked out a man with the cross. He just played it into an area in the box.

It has happen before, last season as well. Omg, if Roo does not play, we will stomp them!

And **** happens anyway, regardless if he's on the pitch or not. I'll post some stats later.

Against Feyenoord, there was no Rooney. And we did **** all. If you want to stop his influence, sell him. Benching him wont do any good.

It was pretty unrealistic to think things would swing so quickly regardless of who's out there. Building a side under a new manager takes time. Not just throwing mega money around and expecting the pieces to fit straight in and improve everything else around them.

Who wants to bet if Rooney does not play, nothing significantly will change?

Nothing will change, guys, except the fundations we play. It will probably allow us to play 4-3-3 with the recently brilliant Herrera on the pitch (for me it's Carrick, Herrera, Pogba the dream trio now), at a faster pace, to finally get something out of our set pieces, etc.

He has nothing to do near the starting 11 and this is a no brainer.

You missed the bit in the middle that you didn't bold. Also while not technically an assit his free kick led to zlatans goal against City

I said set piece!

Ah, right. You can ambiguously read like that like two separate things.

Ta for the clarification.

Carry on.

Listen I love Rooney and he has been great over the years but he just does not warrant starting. If Mourinho picked a settled team
some like

DDG
Darmian-Bailly-Smalling-Shaw
Carrick
Pogba-Herrera
Mky-Zlatan- Then either Rashford or Martial on the left I bet my months wages that we would be seeing a massive improvement within 3-4 weeks.

I don't see Jose Moving to a 4-3-3 anytime soon, we need to set Pogba free, so I think we should roll something With Pogba and Carick in a 2 with carrick holding back while Pogba goes crazy. We need pace on the wings, they need to track back too.I suggest we play Mkhi and You g on the wings for this game, Zlatan as Striker and(grudgingly) Rooney at 10

Playing a 3 would set Pogba free ala Juve. And him and Carrick in a 2 would be awful! Young has been woeful his crossing has been dire but he does work hard. God not Rooney at 10 Mata should be years ahead of Rooney at 10.

Oh lord. The man has lost it.

no bro its the wording,he meant after after playing 90 mins against northampton rooney would be dropped for leicester.im hoping hes on the bench too, appreciate all he has given the club but we wont progress until his role is reduced
If that is what he meant he needs to improve his grammar and place a comma after the 90 mins to make it read that way. Commas are wonderful things.

I saw press conference today and Mourinho was surprisingly positive. Which is good considering the pressure and he hasn't gone into a mardy streak.

City have started like a house on fire, but when things go rocky (it does for everyone at some point) it will be interesting to see how they respond and how Pep copes.

We need to win this weekend though, if we were to go 9 points behind that would be a lot at any stage.
