The Manchester United Thread

First we were going to get hammered, now we should have won.. Funny how things change. United did a massive job on how Liverpool played but our own counters missed chances. Draw a fair result.

Things changed the game and he didn't adjust to take advantage.

Actually we did, we just didn't execute. The press did it's job. The counter didn't. I know you outright hate him, but spinning that as a him not getting it right is a little ludicrous

I guess at this point, it's only a matter of opinion. You think were still "way off" in the second half, I personally think Lallana changed the game and you looked like a side that if they had space between the lines, if United had any other set up barring the one they had last night, then you could've steamrolled us for that last 30 minutes. But that's my opinion.

If there was any point in that match to try and nick a goal or two, it would've been the first half when you showcased no threat at all, but it would've been much too risky to push the boat out in that second half when you were the better team. Having said that, Ibra should've scored in the second half... if that goes, in, 3 points and job well done with a bonus.

And equally as important, if you presume everyone else around you does similar, is games against your rivals.

You missed a MASSIVE trick last night. L'pool we're poor from one to eleven. There was no pace. No intensity. The crowd was flat. If you'd had ANY ambition you'd of had a great chance to of won that. I get why a lot of Utd fans are ruing a massive missed opportunity to take three points as it was down to the way he didn't adjust and take advantage of how poor L'pool were.

You finish a couple of points behind L'pool or anyone else the top four, and that negativity becomes crucial.

2 points lost as much as one gained given the circumstances of the game.
I sense a little bit of salt there.

But if you look at it this way, we only had one true counter attacking threat which was rashford. Martial/mhkitaryan would've served as much better counter attacking outlets compared to young and rashford. We equally didn't have a fully fit Luke shaw so we weren't as threaten as we should've been from wide areas.

You missed a massive opportunity through his negativity.

That's not spinning anything. A point is good and what he wanted. It could of been so much more however. Not many teams will get that scenario at Anfield this year however hard/ well they press with L'pool so off and the crowd so flat.

Meh, not in the least. L'pool were *****. Improved later on but not to that much a significant degree. Could still of won without two World class saves but didn't deserve it for their lethargy as much as anything. Mourinho did what Mourinho does. No complaints on not winning the game.

Just saying you're never getting a more perfect opportunity than that to come away with all three points.

*Edit* Keep forgetting to mention the World class goal saving tattle from Valencia on Firmino that was right up there with the two Worldie saves. Top draw defending that.

No we really didn't. Because we actually created on the counter, and just didn't take the chances. I'm done with this tbh. Happy with the point, onwards and upwards

But if United went there with more attacking naivety and less defensive discipline, then Liverpool wouldn't be so "off" and the crowd wouldn't be so "flat".

Behave. We're talking how a game played out on the night and missed opportunity's.

Now who's 'spinning.'

The 3-4-3 setup of Chelsea's will be interesting.

This game will revolve around Kante. I would play an all action midfield. Herrera vs Kante will be a great match up

I always knew Herrera was good, I just didn't think this good. The man covers every inch of grass, superbly composed on the ball, picks a pass, breaks up attacks, has a **** of a strike when given the opportunity, and the most important thing for me, as shown last night and when he came on in the second half against City, he stands up to be counted in big games - you can see he's already fallen in love with the club. I'm probably guilty of bigging him up a little here or getting carried away, but seriously this man is one **** of a player.

When we got ripped apart by Bilbao, this was the level he was at all year This is was Ferguson liked about him and scouted him over. LVG took the edge from his game. Mourinho has put it back.

I agree with what Giggs and Neville said last night afterward. Mou isn't happy with the squad players or quantity either. Like Neville I can see Mou being brutal in the nex 2 transfer windows especially the next summer one. Can see 1-2 going in Jan then a big rebuild in the summer. He will want his squad with his players throughout and want to go back to having a consistent line up week in week out.

Rooney will most likely be the first one out the door.

Just my opinion but I don't think. Rooney, Wilson, Schniederlin, Schweinstiger, Carrick, Young, Memphis, Januzaj, Jones, Rojo, Varela, Darmian, Romero will survive past the next few windows.

Lol....salty, salty.

Whole week he was crowing about how it would be a comfortable win and now he has changed course to 'Liverpool were so ****, its unbelievable United did not win ... Must be Mourinho's negativity' etc etc
