That just had me laughing aloud probably WAY more than it should of.
 
I'd say you would want to deal with the mentality of a squad that felt it had no chance of a title after 5 games. Either they never thought they would win it or that is just some of the worst mental strength for a squad to bounce back from losses
 
No doubt, the mentality of the squad is poor and Jose really needs to toughen it up.

My gut's telling me we're going to absolutely spank Burnley on Saturday. No beating around the bush, I really think a side are in for an absolute torturing from us - we've created chances, we done to City in the second half last night what we should've done to them in the league, get a goal for our dominant half, now we need to put Burnley to the sword and give them a right walloping like we should've gave Stoke.

If United start with Herrera/Pogba in the middle, Mata tucked behind Ibra in the #10 role (NOT POGBA IN THE #10), with either Lingard, Rashford, Martial, Depay or Mkhitaryan (chuckles) on the flanks, then I'm sticking my neck out and saying they simply will not cope with us, it could well be an absolute mauling.

Mourinho confirmed that Martial will defo be back in the squad against Burnley. Can't see Rashford making no it though with a thigh strain.
 
Pity about Rashford, thought it was just cramp at the time, but I don't really mind which of those 5 starts, what a nice 'problem' to have :)
 
Brilliant news. Goss and Gribbin set to make there returns for the u23s against Spurs tonight after long injury lay offs. Gribbin being promoted from the u18s in the process. A win would take us 3rd which would be great considering the injuries we have had, and players we lost in loan or sold or promoted this summer.

On the face of it in isolation you probably would.

But then when you look at it in context it's completely understandable how the psychology of it plays an effect. Of the previous 8 PL winners, the final total loses of each was 3, 5, 0, 1, 5, 5, 5, 4. Chelsea had started the season with 6 straight wins and would go on to win 8 of their first 10 games. United won 4 the first 5 and would win 7 and draw 1 their first 10. Arsenal won 8 of their first 10.

When you lose 2 of the first three, when the average the previous 8 seasons for title winners has been 3.5 loses over the entire season; which then turns into 3 loses the first 8 games, 4 the 9th, you're relying on a minor miracle to win the title.

You carry on fighting. Games have to be played. But you know in all probability you're already out of the race for the top spot.

Think it very much depends on the first goal, we all know how Burnley will play and Sean Dyche has done a fantastic job with them. It's really refreshing in the modern era with all the money in PL seeing clubs like Burnley and Bournemouth doing so well. Just shows you as confirmed last year by Leicester getting a good team together is far more important than a team full of great individuals.

But anyway if we get an early goal I can see it being a comfortable win, if howeverBurnley get through the first 45 still level it could be a frustrating day for us. Just got to stay patient and show the quality in final third we have and we should win this. Let's face it anything other than a win here is unacceptable at home to Burnley. I mean they are a good side at their ground but away from home they have been poor.
 
Hope for a good result and performance tomorrow. Like zzeezzy said first goal will be key. But tbh I would be happy with a 1-0 win in extra time. 3 points are what's important atm, winning will bring confidence and better performances.

Not that it was in much doubt from me personally, but for anyone that may of been caught up in the speculation, the whole "United don't want Mkhitaryan anymore" bs was firmly cleared up & Jose sees him very much in his plans (obviously), he even cheekily grinned when the journalist asked "is it simple just 'time' or maybe he just won't work here?" - saying he will work, before going on to compare this process of patience with that of Willian at Chelsea, and Di Maria at Real Madrid.

Cant see Carrick playing after Mourinho comments. Pogba,Herrera,Mata. With Lingard and Martial on the wings :)
