The Manchester United Thread

God L'pool had a VERY lucky escape there. (Memphis.).

Thank you Utd for steaming in with a shed load more £.

"We are fine," Jose Mourinho tells #MUTV when asked about injuries. "We are in a very good situation. No injuries" #MUFC

I'd of thought he would be a good player for a manager like Klopp to manage and get the best out of

With the main knock on his time at Utd being his **** poor attitude, I'd think he'd be the last player Klopp would want to deal with.

At the time Liverpool fans were not thinking thank God. As for the shed load more, it was actually £25m from Liverpool

Most Pool fans weren't thinking that at the time ;)

This is true.

But knowing what we know now it's turned into a VERY lucky escape for L'pool at Utd's expense. (H).

Dependent on who you read, it was rumoured to be anywhere between £20/25 million. But nothing official ever came out. We definitely talked to him but you went further in wages and the extra fee.

Frustrating end, never a bother or a stropper, but he just didnt get it. Still young and very talented, let's see how Lyon goes for him

Every transfer is perfect in hindsight, so knowing what we know now, doesn't change that.

His wages werent mega and United will recoup most of the fee, so it was always worth the initial deal

Mourinho on signings, "The best time is the summer market, I always consider the January market to be an emergency one to solve problems."

Mourinho on further sales, "I was not even thinking of selling Morgan and Memphis, it was only because the right offer arrived."

Mourinho, "If there are other unhappy players who want to go, I won't stand in their way."

Mourinho on Young to China story, "I don't give credit to that."

I'm sure He will be a superstar in the French League.

Maybe this is to stoke up the chances of him being sold - but this is what Mourinho said of him -

"He's a very good professional, is the only thing I can say. I know the public image is always influenced by some details of their private lives but the reality is that he is a very good professional, a very good boy."

"He has a high level of education, super polite, super professional, and works really hard."

"But it's a position where I have Martial, Mkhitaryan, Mata, Lingard, plus Rooney and Rashford who can also play in this position."

"So we have six, seven players. When I have the feeling and information that the player probably has a big chance to leave then I have to care more about the others."

"But if you arrive in January and nothing happens - and we have lots of matches - then if he is going to be my player until the end of the season I will help him and he will be useful for us."

(This was before he was sold but wanted to go)

Don't think it had anything to do with his attitude tbh. Just down the pecking order and the odd chance was given time on the pitch it didn't work out for him.
