The Manchester United Thread

Zlatan's all round game has been superb today. Looks so much better when he has players closer to him (#10!!!!).

Hard to really talk about anyone today good or bad given how putrid the opposition has been.

The first half was a complete non-event until Leicester self imploded and they've been all over the place second half. Renieri's made changes and I still can't work out what formation he's tried to switch to or what those changes were supposed to do.

But then I shouldn't mock them too much as abysmally poor as they currently are, they have L'pool in two games time who currently cure all ***** sides ills.

Great to have Bailly back. Such a wall and don't think he ever misses a header. So composed and good on the ball also!

That Ndidi lad looks decent for Leicester, good energy

Great weekend for United, big 3 points as Liverpool and Arsenal both lose. Could've been even better if we beat Hull midweek, and Swansea held on today, but beggars can't be choosers.

Game by game, keep it going. Really like when we shape up in a 4-2-3-1!

Very good result today, I think that we are really missing an attacking LB to make the same runs as Valencia does, make us a lot more dangerous...speaking of an attacking LB, where the **** is Shaw?

I'm still not convinced with a 4-2-3-1. It's good at dispatching small sides but it will fold against the top teams. Perhaps the team needed a little change in shape.

Working on his fitness! And not being rushed back, clearly not been the same after his injury. Expect to see him in some cup comps coming up. Hope we stick with 4231. And yes you can use it against the top teams!

Putting on weight and ******* off the United coaching staff hughesman, really hope he gets his **** together soon.

Everything I hear from a few Utd lads who travel in for work is he's on very dodgy ground going forward. His attitude since his return from the rehab just hasn't been great at all to go along with his play being nowhere near what it was pre-injury.

The form you can excuse from an injury as bad as that but not the attitude.

They seriously aren't expecting him to survive under Mourinho for what that's worth.

*Edit* But then they also think Martial is on similar rocky ground whatever the company line on that situation currently is.

Martial is on far safer ground than Shaw is, but both arent where they should be. Martial will be fine, Shaw I'm not so convinced about

Yeah agree tbh. Shaw really needs to sort his **** out or he will be gone. From what I've read Martial has really knuckled down the past couple of weeks and Zlatan has been key to this, taking him under his wing. Think it's more Mourinho is ****** with his agent than the player himself.

Yessss! Monreal replacement confirmed.

Eh, if you give an 18-year old more money per week than a lot of people make in 5 years, you shouldn't be surprised if his head isn't where it should be. Why would he push himself to improve? He's already a multi-milionaire at 20, and without even playing much football, because he spent most of his time at United getting massages.

Buying them so young comes with a risk, for every Ronaldo there's gonna be 5 Shaws, that's just how it is.

Indeed Tyton. He's still got time to turn it around
As much as we need a left back, I think Luke Shaw is finished. He's lost a lot of acceleration and doesn't have the same physical edge as he did before. That double fracture ended him. Shame because he was on his way to become world class before the injury.

Think he'd be better in a back 5 him as the left wing back now, can go forward and have cover behind him if left too far up field.

Ironically, I'm pretty sure it was Mourinho who pointed this out at the time, when he was with Chelsea, and Shaw signed for United, and Jose was asked why they didn't sign him instead. He said that putting a 19 year old on 100k a week in a dressing room full of senior players who have achieved more but are being paid less was just asking for trouble
