The Manchester United Thread

A few bits of news...

Millen Baars is still waiting for international clearance.

Jean Belehouan, George Broadbent, Sam Allardyce and Keiran Ceesay have all left the club.

Mason Greenwood is back from injury and featured for the U/16's today. Great news!

Potentially the last three away games at Arsenal, Tottenham and City.

Good luck with that.

It will more depend on our position going into them games what really matters, if we have a nice 4/5 point cushion in top 4 by then (which I'm hoping we will) then it will make it a lot more comfortable.

No Rooney, Blind, Valencia, Jones tomorrow apparently. Shaw also has travelled with the match day squad for tomorrow game. Think we will line up.

Luke Shaw assured of his Manchester United future despite bit-part role from Mourinho

The parts on Shaw:
“He had a very ugly injury, really, really ugly,” said Mourinho, refuting rumours that Shaw could be sold this summer. “Not just from the physical point of view, but also by the mental impact. So this season he has had a couple of small injuries and he needs to adapt. He knows what I like in a defender, he knows that I like stability, that I don’t like mistakes, that for me it is to trust a player totally and he has to work to get it."

“And when he is on the pitch again he has to try to give me that step by step because he is still only a young player, sometimes people forget he is only a young player with a lot to learn but I like the player and I like the boy. No, he will be here next season for sure, that is out of the question to sell the player.”

Big shout out to the Blackburn fans still staying away today down to refusing to line the POS Venky's pockets. Couldn't think of any harder conflict to have on a regular basis as a fan. Fair play to them for not buckling on that a big Cup tie. Top respect.

For the Rovers fans in attendance, good luck with the 18/75 protest. Hopefully the whole ground will join in and the cameras focus on it to bring more media attention to this ongoing disgrace.

You lads obviously won't share in these good will wishes but good luck Blackburn the game.

If any fanbase currently deserves a real special, fun day it's Rovers.

i agree, the venkys have failed the blackburn fans in many ways

They're beyond a disgrace. Absolutely running a solid, traditional football club that has been among the backbone of our league for nigh on 130 years into the ground. All whilst sat home in India refusing to talk to anyone with local Blackburn businessmen begging to step in and buy the club off the them. It makes absolutely zero sense what their current stance is but it's absolutely decimating that club.

When you listen to Blackburn fans and look into the figures and the money they've taken out it's jaw dropping. Rovers plight under the despicable charlatans really does need more national attention.

The Venkys have been covered by the Sports pages for years tbh

but what good has it done?blackburn have been in decline for so long its embarrasing for the fans.imagine going to a game knowing the owners are not looking after the best interests of the club......

It comes up and then it dies. Theres not many that's really done an in depth look into the ongoing disgrace there.

And that's the key thing. It's ongoing and getting worse. Today's a big TV occasion so it might get good coverage. Then it slips out of the National spotlight. Have to think if it was a bigger PL club there'd be far more being over it the National media.

That's why many have taken the decision to no longer attend. If all you're doing is putting your hard earned money into the pockets of owners who have absolutely no interest in putting that investment back into the club and are just keeping it for themselves you can really sympathise with anyone reaching that point.

That's really not true that its not been covered in depth. It has been so, lots of times.

Another dissapionting loss for the u23s. 0-2 to Reading who have now jumped above us. Can see us getting relegated at this rate. 2 weeks in a row we've lost to teams below us in the relegation battle.

'Lots of times' is stretching it when it comes to the National media. There's been a few insightful pieces but nothing like the in depth attention the situation deserves.

For anyone interested as I'm struggling to find these figures on a search of press articles they bought Blackburn in 2010 for £23 M with £21 M worth of debt. They got relegated out of the PL in 2012 with a £48 million parachute payment. They've sold £76 million worth of players and paid out only £27 million on incomings. Yet the debt has increased to a staggering £104 million! Now I was never the best at maths but WTF has all that money gone? They've also gone through 8 different managers in that time. And it's been months since they've spoken to anyone. They're just cocooned in India letting Blackburn go to the wall with no interest in selling.

The whole scenario makes absolute zero sense and deserves to be a far bigger National issue than it is. It's ongoing and getting worse by the passing day. They drop down another league you really start fearing for the existence of Blackburn in it's current guise.

Leicester beat Arsenal 2-1 too to leapfrog you. Leaves only Tottenham and Derby 1 and 3 points below you. With a very young L'pool 23's side currently drawing 0-0 HT with Derby.

Gonna' be a real battle down there the last 5 games. Sadly not the same at the top with Everton already decking out the bus for the tour round the City!

*Edit* Derby just gone 1 up to compound Utd U-23's day and leave them in the relegation spot second bottom if it holds. And this game is so poor it may well.

Derby won 2-1 with a last minute winner. Less said about a horribly dull game the better.

its really not.

I can count 6 pieces alone from David Conn.

Then there is the BBC, Daniel Taylor, Ollie Holt, Mark Ogden

5 different national papers have written multiple stories on the Venkys

I know what's out there. A search will show anyone that.

And it's nothing like what would be if this were a big PL club. ****, there's far more National articles from 4/5 years back when they were. Now the interest only springs up when they make a manager change or there's a highlighted protest. Or a big game like this weekend that draws attention back to Blackburn. Then they get forgotten about for months on end.

*Edit* Anyway, regardless, it's an absolute disgrace what's happening to Blackburn and something seriously needs doing about it.
