FWIW, don't want Perisic. Good player, but not the same level as Mkhitaryan, and Martial has a ceiling that'll comfortably surpass him. Would be the definition of a 'meehhhh' signing for me, and a bad one if it were to force Martial out the door.
I wouldn't mind him as an option for the left wing. Be an big upgrade on Young and give us better depth! And he does have quality. But not for the price quoted! Plus Perisic agent denied it.FWIW, don't want Perisic. Good player, but not the same level as Mkhitaryan, and Martial has a ceiling that'll comfortably surpass him. Thing is, if he comes here, there's no chance he's going to be just an 'option'. He's started like 25 times for Inter already this season, they're starting what's a pretty exciting project (from what I hear, don't know too much about it), everything's rosy for him over there, he's not going to back his bags and come here just to be an option.
Which keeps bringing it back to the arguably rather unsettled Martial.... who I think the world of. Where would he fit in? He's too good not to be starting week in/week out, and he's at that stage of his career where he just needs to play, develop, and kick on. With Mkhitaryan, Martial, Rashford and Lingard we have plenty of options who plays inside left, don't think signing him to halt Martial's progress, or even worse, force him out the door would be the brightest thing. I think Griezmann is the signing we need, playing off Ibra/Rashford.
Yep good Cameo by Rashford. Only reason I watched tbh.Yeah, nice goal from Mkhi. Rashford was also terrific when he came on for England; Marcus Rashford: Completed the most dribbles (7) and created the most chances (7) in England vs Lithuania despite only playing 30 minutes
