The Manchester United Thread

Very comfortable and easy win, but could've been more.. very sloppy and bad decisions sometimes in decisive situations! But 3 goals and 3 points, we'll take it!

good win.Looking ahead to next sunday it will be interesting who plays after thursday.i expect us to prioritise anderlecht game over chelsea

He almost got PL MOTM if it wasn't for Ibrahimovic. I mean, wtf.

It's 2017, you're a football superstar if you have your own Twitter emoji and a new haircut every week. What you show on the pitch is hardly relevant.

You'd know Pogba was injured recently, withdrawal symptoms on criticizing him; released XD

Benjamin Button :)

Dallas Cup update. Utds first match result. Very poor performance. Players looked jet lagged and not use to conditions. Good experience for the lads. Gribbin Utds best player.

FT Chivas 4-1 Man Utd [Torres '11,' 17, Zendejas '46, Macias '52 - Kenyon '55]

United apparently looked tired (jetlag), crowd of 19'417, good experience for the lads.

The next match against Real Salt Lake tonight at 22:00 BST (but don't trust me on those times anymore)

So Shaw plays, played well, wants to stay, Mourinho wants him to stay (if he can pull it together), praises him.

So much for the bullying then eh?

Worth noting that LVG had to publicly cajole Shaw, as did Hodgson. He's a brilliant talent, who is struggling after a horrific injury, but the various messages haven't got through (till recently). Shaw's future lies in his hands now.

Midfield was horrible in its balance. Pogba has been well overcriticised this season, but he was poor, needed to move the ball much faster. Didn't need Fellaini in there, in fact i would have just played Pogba and Herrera, with another attacker ahead

Don't understand his persistence with Fellaini, especially in the heart midfield. All he is is a tactical pocketknife, a decent plan B to push up near Ibra when you need to go more direct

If anything, just shows how much we need another DM/CM

Yep we need to find Carricks' successor there

the midfield area has been lacking for years now.i grew up watching robson,ince,keane,scholes,giggs....so many great players and for one reason or another weve gradually got weaker in that area

That's for a number of reasons. Under investment by Fergie, haggling over agent fees etc. The reluctance to clear out the old guard earlier. Moyes not having a clue. Players being signed despite them being put in place by the old regime. An churn of managers and a mish mash of a squad with players from 4 different managers. Least we got a man in charge now who has a clear idea who he wants. And Ed Woodward who will do absolutely anything to bring them in.

I think Pogba can take care of Carricks role in the coming years, I think he can be a great Deep Lying Playmaker. I don't see Pogba as a box-to-box to be honest?
