The Manchester United Thread

Gundogan is a great player, but it was a dumbass decision to base the team around a player who's had like 3 years of constant injury problems.

The Premier league is seriously deficient of central midfield quality.

The only competent central midfielder at Man City is Silva and he's on the decline. In 2020-2020 should be the peak for this Ciry generation. They need to plan for who'll be there.

In 2020:
Bravo (37), ***** (38)
Sagna (37, Zabs (32), Stones (25), Kompany (34), Otamendi (33), Kolarov (34)

Fernandinho (34), Toure (37), Fernando (33)

Delph (30), Silva (34), Gundogan (29)

KDB (28), Navas (34), Nolito (33), Sané (24), Sterling (25)

Kun (31), Kelechi (23), Gabriel (23)

The entire defence needs binning other than Stones, new keepers are needed, the entire midfield needs binning and it's not as bad front line wise.

Those 6 are all out of contracts this year, so that'll help.

Rashford is a 9. Keep him on the left and he becomes a kick and rush player. Why would you play a 4-2-3-1? Why you'll need a 9 and wide forward. Mata is easily expendable and Herrera has no justification to be starting. Fellaini should be nowhere near the match squad. Luke Shaw is physically finished and a left full back is needed. Quality > quantity
Why the hate on herrera?

Forget 2020 wkdsoul, they need to be winning next season. What pellegrini achieved in his last season was considered the bare minimum. Guardiola has already achieved less in his first season, and top 4 isn't even guaranteed yet.

the 2020 factor i pretty much ignored anyway, The squad needs a 1/3rd replacing at least. Lucky for us Pep did that every season from the off at Barca (His core was waay better to build off) but at least we know he can mix and match/build.

We just dont have the draw factor of 'come sit on our bench anyway, we're Barcelona for **** sake' lol. :)

I see Marca starting De Gea to Madrid rumors again. Probably bollocks, but you have to wonder how much longer DDG is willing to put up with mediocrity. He's been in Manchester 6 years and won nothing of note apart from one league title half a decade ago. A player of his caliber deserves better than that.

You lot better hope Real wins CL and league again this year, that'd elevate Navas to a cult hero status and even Perez would have to think twice about trying to replace him again.

It's worth noting how much we stuck by him during his first 2 years in England.

Guy looked like a complete waste of 19 mill but he turned his united career around.

LOL at Herrera. Most overrated United player I've seen in a while. Seen United fans compare him to Kanté. Decent tactically but limited. Plays in AW favourable role. Mourinho will replace quicker than you can say Saul.

He is fairly comparable to Kante - if you go off stats anyway.

He shouldn't be near the team yet is the clubs leading assist maker and joint top in man of the match awards?

I'd say he's more underrated than overrated

We are certainly doing a better job in front of De Gea this season. Don't want to lose him, but we are not as reliant on him as we used to be.
