The Manchester United Thread

huge sigh of relief.they need reminding what they are playing for and whats at stake ie their careers at united and CL football

I was just about to say this is, save for it being scoreless at H/T, like a re-run of the Swansea game at Anfield.

No pace. No movement. No organisation from Utd. Coupled with woeful defending. Swansea completely comfortable and breaking well the more confident they got. An anxious, flat crowd starting to vocally get frustrated.

Then Rashford buys a penalty that wasn't and the whole complex of the game has quite possibly changed.

It was a less-than impressive 1st half in truth. I hope Mata comes on.

Playing against a side who are fighting for their lives. Naturally it's going to be difficult, whatever the quality of opposition. And despite Swansea being dire this season, they have definitely got some quality on that pitch in Llorente, Sigurdsson, etc.

Stroke of luck winning the penalty, but sometimes you need it - just make sure we get these 3 points!

Bad 1st half imo, Rooney and Lingard not really working.. Very "lucky" imo to get a pen from Rashfords dive and we'll take that for the 2nd half!

I was hoping Lingard and/or Rooney to get subbed in HT but now not so sure! hope we step up a few notches 2nd half..

It may not have been a penalty but the way the game has gone it doesn't surprise me. A goal just before the halftime whistle may just be the wake up call needed as Swansea seem to be the only team playing for anything currently. The loss of Shaw didn't help but there is a lack of any kind of urgency in the team. If you want CL footy next season you don't put all your eggs in one basket (al la Arsenal and 4th place) when fighting on two fronts you put the effort in to both as you never know what's going to happen.

I don't know why people are surprised that we're lethargic and showing little urgency. We're clearly drained from Thusday's game and the recent schedule mixed in with all the injuries not helping.

At this stage of the season, with the schedule and everything. Forget performances, it's just results that matter.

Yes we have a few players who didn't play on Thursday, Herrera/Rooney etc. But a lot of the team did.

bailly hasnt looked right today imo.maybe time to give tuanzebe some minutes at some point

You couldn't make this **** up. Looks like it is Tuanzebe/Mourinho pairing next game.
