United are playing relatively well this season, only relatively. But it still a **** of a lot better than since Ferguson, especially in creating chances. Definitely right to call out smalling and Jones. Frankly I'd bin the pair tbh.

As for Mata, he Pogba and Herrera are vital to our tempo. United play best with the three of them. Next season will probably see us field a pacy forward who will thrive better off their willingness to play through balls.

I have something against him in regards to him digging at Chelsea on multiple occasions but that is all. Overall i love the guy and what he done for my club but absolutely delighted to see the back of him. Although i tend to agree regarding Smalling and Jones one thing Jose never did was call out his players, it was the thing he done opposite of, he put all attention on himself. I just think morally what he's said about Smalling, Jones and Shaw and even Schweinsteiger (which he backtracked once he sold him) its wrong and just looking at it from the outside not having to stick up for him anymore no matter what i see what everyone else saw in him and that's a shame.

Why is it wrong to question the commitment of players when there is reason to believe it's true?

I'm glad we actually have a manager like Mourinho who has the balls to make these big decisions. Yes he can go too far, but in this case he didn't.

Just look how masterfully he phased out Rooney this season, compare it to LVG and Moyes who couldn't even manage to do it.

I compare it to how Conte has phased out JT, one has had dignity the whole season but even that aside so he was telling us that Smalling and Jones are not actually injured then? So he's questioning their integrity and their professionalism then, that's a monumental call to make don't you think?

Sure, it's a big call, but as you and I both know, modern footballers are far from perfect and their dedication can be questioned.

But, I personally think Mourinho was right to do it, in this case anyway. Just appears too much of a coincidence how they are both suddenly coming back into the equation all of a sudden.

Not the most controversial thing he's ever done in his career, and I'm sure there'll be a lot bigger talking points in the near future, so give it a rest lol. He called it as he seen it, Smalling & Jones are big & ugly enough to take it on the chin, irregardless of whether it was right or wrong.

Can't say his risky management hasn't got 0 response from the likes of Martial, Mkhitaryan (pre-injury wobbles), Shaw (showed great attitude before that unlucky set-back), etc.. so I can't overly complain about how he's went about it, even if it did raise my eyebrows on a few occasions.

The thing is you do this sort of this behind closed doors surely? Soon as he called Eva Carniero out in public last season the **** started to hit the fan for us. Look obviously i don't care if he does things which hurt Utd however i can just see similarities already from in season 1 for Utd which we don't usually see in Jose season 2/3

But he has 33 apps and that's with injury problems throughout pretty much entire 2017? Am I missing something here?

Sure I mean apart from the fact that's hot garbage, you're absolutely right. He's bang on about Jones and Smalling, he actually got through to Shaw, despite being the 4th manager to try and coax him out of bad habits. The only person who got it harshly was bastian, and if you that's not happened under any of our previous managers, you've not been watching.

He coaxed and protected Shaw, and didnt get much out of him, finally says enougs enough and we started to see him back to his best, before an entirely different issue befell him.
 
So we are going to make this tie unnecessarily difficult smh.
