You have answered your own question really. Massive pay rise! And to play for a bigger club no matter how you cut it we are. And they wouldn't have a choice if we activated his clause.
Isn't his clause 100 million though, doubt we will spend that on a GK

...... And they wouldn't have a choice if we activated his clause.

Depends on the actual clause. For example, that's why Arsenals £1 bid over Suarez's £40 million release didn't trigger it as it wasn't an 'automatic' release. Contracts are complex and football clubs sneaky.

Then of course even if it is triggered with the bid having to be accepted, it's still down to the player to agree to move.

Not always as straight forward as just meeting the valuation of the clause.

All Spanish clubs have to include minimum fee release clauses in their contracts and the law has changed so they are far easier to trigger so if you are willing to activate the clause the club has to hope they stay

90 mins of my life I won't get back. Worrying thing is that at least 6 of those who featured will start in the EL final. Very very lacklustre. I appreciate there's nothing to play for league wise, but ffs there are places up for grabs. Good game Romero & two centre halves, I reckon Jones comes up trumps in the "audition", wouldn't be surprised if both start tbh.
Lol. I'm actually glad I missed the game.

Aerial duels won in the Premier League this term: Michael Keane (149) Chris Smalling (46) Marcos Rojo (45) Phil Jones (42) Eric Bailly (36)

Don't know how many games were played for each to get a real comparison. That's a lot of headers for Keane anyway

Joe, I do believe your defensive stats would look good if you were a centre-half in a team deep sat as deep as Burnley.

League average defender who's a product of Burnley's system. Don't get the interest at all when he'd be asked to actually think for himself and play football.

Squaka had him as the highest for the most headers won in the top 5 leagues in Europe. Also very high in tackles and interceptions as well. Don't get where people think he can't think for himself. He's actually very good with the ball at both passing and composure. And I'm not just saying that as I'm happy he is possibly coming. I'm saying that as I've followed him since he was 16. Seen him live at all age groups. He's never gonna be world class. But for the price he's gonna be a good Prem defender. And can stay fit for more than 10 games a season. Be an upgrade on anything we have after Bailly and Rojo! Seen people say he's really slow, which again isn't strictly true he's kept up with Martial and Rashford when we've played them. Little slow on the turn that's all.

Only thing about José, despite all his flaws, he's generally a superb judge with centre halves.

Cant really compare stats like that. Players in certain teams will always be near the top because of the quality of the team they are in and how they play. There's a reason why the top 5 defenders for aerial duels play for Burnley, Bournemouth, West Brom and Stoke.

Yeah I agree. But to have that stat in Europes top 5 leagues is still impressive. Plus his alround game is good enough anyway.

You really haven't seen my heading mate haha. On the ground I'm fine, can't head for ****!

Yeh not saying its not good or he's a bad player. Just pointless stats.

Just not needed when you've Tuanzebe developing. Or Dier when you've TFM who needs to be playing sooner rather than later. Except he never has trusted youth.

Bailly, Rojo, backed up by Blind, Tuanzebe. Wouldn't start him ahead of any of those. And presumably one of jones or Smalling will still be there. You could do a lot better for the reported £25 million. And worse £40 M. or more for Dier.

TFM isn't a ball playing DM, though he's a tidy passer

I'd wager he could be a **** of a lot better player in whatever role you'd put Dier in than Dier. Just a bang average, hard working player.

Don't get that interest at all. (If it's true which is another thing again.).

That I agree with. It's not that Jose doesnt trust him, he sees him as a centre back or right back in future.

Tuanzebe will be the 4th/5th CB. I just dont want Keane as the 3rd. That said. Jose is excellent on CBs so hard to argue against him, and he was always a tidy player when he was here.
