The Manchester United Thread

Out: Rooney, Young, Jones?, Januzaj, Ibra??
Would keep Young. Sell Smalling as well as Wilson, Varela. All depends if Carrick and Zlatan take the offer from the clubs if they leave, I'm sure they will get one. Wouldn't sell to many tbh. Players like Young, Darmian are good enough for a various positions and to play in cup games so we can challenge on all fronts again next season without it hindering our league form.

We'll only be stronger next season! More rest time between CL and PL games usually in comparison to EL. Schedule generally will be less intense because of this and will give us more chance in the league.

Back in the CL now where we belong and we'll invest in quality this summer to only make us better.

Oh and should add that every team won't have an easy ride in terms of schedule like Chelsea/Liverpool did, so we'll have a greater chance in the league for sure. Really fancy us next season if we invest right this summer.

In Swedish TV after the game last night when Zlatan was asked about his injury he said "i'll be back in a few weeks" with a cheeky smile tho, so not sure if he was joking or not haha

Manchester United's tactics made for a boring game, says Ajax boss Peter Bosz

-------

Jesus, that sour grapes are too tasty, I could lick this guys tears at his bitterness ;)

We made your philosophy look as one-dimensional as it is and gave your kids a lesson in how to win a match.

I kind of liked Ajax going into this final, but big mouths before and now sour grapes after kind of changes my mind.

Hah...
Only if someone had time to into this thread history and see how many times here people have complained about boring and bus parking tactics against you. But he is your coach now and have to back him up.
Most are right saying that Ajax where inexperience, that happens when you dont play against this kind of tactics. Undeserved win, thats my opinion, in future people remember title not the game. First lucky goal killed it, backed down and then done.

CL spot is yours, transfer mill will go nuts, lets what team he puts together. Still think next year United will stay 4-5th place. PL is not that inexperienced against these tactics unless Mou dosent bring something new to the table or players individually bring the squad to victory.

But still congratulation to team.
Are you the only team to have all the major trophies now?
(Would be interesting to make next season prediction before the summer transfer or after?)
undeserved win my ***

Nothing undeserved about the win. United were pretty much always in control. Ajax were allowed to have the ball in safe areas and their wide players offered little threat

Everybody caught the bait with "undeserved" :D
I admit it, too harshly said, didint know how else to say/explained. The post was more directed to above me about Ajax head coach "crying".
Never mind me, they played like asked and got the win.
ahhh the old ill say i was trolling you ploy i see what you did there

Well, it was a boring game, though.

I am not sure how or why is it "crying" when someone says that boring game was boring, but whatever.

Undeserved? Did you just watch the highlights or did you watch the full thing? BS

Well done to both City and United for their £1m combined donation to the victims of the Manchester Bomb and also to Non-League Altrincham (my club) for their donation of £600. £1m may not be a huge amount for the two big clubs but it is not always the amount you give but the meaning behind it.

Boring game it may of been for the neutral but come on.... just to say 'Man Utd tactics made it boring' by the Ajax manager is just sour grapes.

You can argue it was just as boring watching them try to keep possession and have zero quality with it as well as zero penetration. There are two ways of looking at it.

Say what you like about Mourinho, but the guy is the best in the business when it comes to setting up to nullify opposition strengths.

Sure if we wanted to get beat or give Ajax a better chance we'd play right into their hands using similar style to theirs, but that's not how football works.

Personally I didn't find it boring at all, I enjoyed the **** of that match, how we played against them was literally perfect setup by Mourinho. Obviously I'm biased, but when you consider how much was riding on that game in terms of sponsorship, CL place, reputation and the extra pressure after Manchester disaster, can only admire how well the team executed Jose's gameplan.

Why? He didn't say you weren't a better team, or that you didn't deserve it, or whatever. He just said it was a boring game, which it was. It was in fact so boring, it made LVG's United look like 1970 Brazil. You scored from a wicked deflection 15 minutes in, after that you had no interest in doing anything, Ajax had no quality to do anything themselves, and that was that. As a neutral, it would have been more entertaining to spend those 90 minutes watching mountain goats defecate.

Sounds like Atletico getting ready for Griezmann. There in talks to sign Nolito and Balde Kieta. Add to that Lacazette. Ballague was saying there confident there appeal will be successful.
