The Manchester United Thread

Not seen huge amounts of Lindelof, but he's in the Rio Ferdinand mould of defenders, which will compliment Bailly well. He's robust as well.

And meant to be a leader on the pitch, something most teams badly lack.

in all honesty its something weve lacked since keano left, yes giggsy was a legend and there were others like rio, vidic etc but i dont think they had the same presence as roy

Just seeing as you mentioned Roy, read this earlier, Gabriel Heinze on his experience on getting knocked out by Keane in the dressing room post-match.

We lost a game and I went in the dressing room first and Roy Keane was second. I liked to go first after the game; I didn't want to speak to anyone as we lost.

I didn't understand English, just the bad words. I heard my name and "**** off" by Roy Keane, the best player.

I knew that was bad so I stood up to him, this idol of Manchester, this great guy who everyone loved, and replied: "**** off, you". I don't remember what happened next."

Keane is many things, imo he should keep his nose out of a lot of things that doesn't involve him.. but he was a serious, ruthless, ******* captain. His world class ability (which sometimes gets overshadowed by his character, antics etc) didn't half help too.

teams really feared playing us when roy was in the middle of the park.yes he could be a nasty ****** but its part of what made us what we were.I really liked gabi heinze but it seems he learned a lesson that day!

Could never really respect Keane as he was a snide, underhand little rat. Real hard men like Robson and Whiteside (who was also a snide **** but at least he could take it) would do it to your face and could take it back and get on with it. Keane, not so much. The Haaland thing was as low as it gets.

He would have been eaten alive the '70's/ '80's when proper hardmen roamed the park.

Do like him as a pundit though. He's one of the VERY few who isn't afraid of upsetting the status quo and actually sticks to his opinion and more often than not tells it exactly like it is.

^ Pretty much the opposite of me. Respected him on the pitch, and I do think he was as hard as nails. As a pundit, can't help but feel he tries too hard to be controversial.

But if we all had the same opinion it would be a boring world.

i always felt sorry for lee dixon when sitting next to keano, looked like he was scared to say the wrong thing lol

barring a disastrous injury in russia i would speculate that an agreement between player and united is in place but i could be very wrong
Will have to wait and see I guess. But if what there reporting is true about no increase in his release clause then. Sounds just like the Ronaldo/ Suarez deals. Stay one more year and we will give you a pay rise.

And the obvious caveat of Utd needing to break the top 4. By no means a given for any of the Big 6.

This should make you chuckle

Lol, they did something similar with Marco Silva didn't they? (Thought Phelan sacking was harsh, but was never against the appointment). Typical British media with their closed minded, stubborn opinions that usually undermine the foreign.

Suppose Liverpool should be looking at Andros Townsend instead of Salah. And why on earth did City sign Bernardo Silva? James Ward Prowse has been doing exactly what he's been doing and more...

interesting that zlatan will train with utd while he recovers.Maybe his united career could last a little longer who knows?

I think if Zlatan wants Mourinho will sign him on a six month deal for the run in. Makes sense for all parties.
