The Manchester United Thread

Not really looked up his numbers tbh mate, just from the inter games I watched he is an exiting player to watch (would quite like to see him in the Prem) but he misses the target a **** of a lot, though he did get a good amount of goals in the end!

Are his numbers much better than Mata??[/QUOTE

That was also Uniteds trouble last season mate haha. .....

No more than most, We just naturally think it affects us more when it's our own team involved. And that figure gets skewed somewhat by a shed load of chances missed in a 3 or 4 game spell.

Speaking personally, L'pool for example I believe dropped more points from winning positions than any other side in the league down to an inability to finish and kill teams off when they had their foot on the opposition's throat.

Why do Sky make comparisons like that when one player's played x number of games and made x number of starts more than the others? Surely if they wanted to make any worthwhile comparison they'd extrapolate the others figures out over the same number of games?

They do that with most transfers and it's like 'why bother?'

Yeah I agree but even on level amount of games I could see then getting to the amount crosses Perisic had which is why a lot of Utd fans are keen on him. Can provide genuine wide play which no one in our team can offer. And close to double figures in assists and goals. Helps he can easily play on the right. Even at WB in case Mou wanted to play a 3 at the back at times.

Don't know about that mate, looking at this (however reliable it is and how they account for it I don't know though haha)

Yup. Some real low conversation rates right across the board on those figures. (Man alive there must have been chances missed a plenty the PL last year. Only 1 team over 20%?). Which is all relative to each club's season?

Were we not moaning about that kind of football under Moyes?
I certainly don't want to watch united play predictable archaic 'spread to the wing, cross, rinse and repeat' football.

I didn't say that's the style of play we'd be playing. Just that he offers things we lack in the current squad.

Yeah good one in trying to twist my post! In no way have I said I want us to give the ball to the wingers and just lump the ball in the box. I'm getting at Perisic can offer natural width and provide good crosses off both feet, which non of our wide players can. He is also very quick can beat a man on both sides. Very good defensively and a good outlet on the attack. Also good at cutting in and getting shots off.

I don't know how I'm twisting it?

239 to be precise.

So you post a picture of his high crossing stats, say United fans are keen on him because of his high crossing stats.
But I'm twisting your post to make it look like you said United fans are keen on him because of his high crossing stats?

My original post was to do with his overall productivity not his crossing if you care to have a look compared to our attackers.

Oh Jesus H Christ TOD?

You posted a picture of his crossing stats 239.
Then posted...

I could see then getting to the amount crosses Perisic had which is why a lot of Utd fans are keen on him.

"I could see then getting to the amount of crosses Perisic has".

So if we sign him, and he puts in 239 crosses etc... etc...

Just seen his comparative figures for crosses, goals, assists, shots on SSN against the likes of Martial, Mata etc and he was miles better in terms of productivity.

As per Calciomercato.it, United are in advanced negotiations with Inter for Perisic. The final deal is expected to be around the €45m mark.

I really shouldn't try and talk to the uneducated XD

I see reports that we have another £100 million to drop on some superstars.
I wonder who it will be ;)
