Static. Hes been all over and doing a job tracking back at times. Be good if anyone could actually pass the ball to him. Apart from long hoofs downfield or aimless crosses from wide.

Exactly this, before the goal we'd find his feet or chest for some decent hold up/1-2s, now the passing accuracy from most player are.. yeah I dont know..

Pogba the only one so far keeping me from tears and sadness

I would honestly rank him ahead of Ronaldo personally, I think Ronaldo's reputation does him a lot of favours - not that he isn't one of the absolute best

Absolute madness. The internet is not a very good place for a lot of people.
 
Only ourselves to blame for that loss, felt like we created enough to win/draw. Poor finishing/passing most times.

Pre-season or not, I'm not happy. :'(

Hope we can get some easy goals/wins against Sampdoria/Vålerenga now next!
 
Enjoyed that game despite the loss. First real test against a top team that already had some matches and on our level fitness wise. Seen enough last night to be encouraged going into the new season. Good link up play between our attackers, Pogba looks ready to hit the ground running after a Summer off, Mky, Martial, Rashford, Lingard all looking sharp, DDG and Romero doing there thing. Need to start playing Bailly and Lindelöf together now, build that chemistry. Valencia and Darmian at FB will be solid, need to get Shaw back. No injuries so far! Bring it on SC and West Ham.

Why Matic then? If you want mobile = no. Plus he's more of a DLP than a DM.

Matic is just the wrong option, but hey ho, it's better than no one.

Todays game just illustrates how someone like Fabinho would be perfect in that midfield to compliment Pogba and Herrera (when he's back from injury), more mobile and good reading of the game. Matic is just going to slow them down like Carrick really.

Matic is quite mobile, and not sure what you mean by DLP over DM. He closes down, he intercepts, he protects the back 4, and he moves the ball forwards quickly and accurately, and hes a talkative figure.

Precisely what we need.

He's really not mobile, Kante does a lot more besides him and is far better at a lot of those traits.

I honestly think if you take Kante away from Matic of last season, it's a totally different team. Matic was actually poor for a lot of it by his standards, a lot of Chelsea fans were saying this. Especially as the season went on. Most of them didn't even want him in the starting 11.

But anyway, I'd of took Fabinho over Matic, every day of the week, but for some reason we're not in for him, which is madness.

He's not as mobile as Kante, but not what we are looking for. He's more mobile than Carrick was at the same age, and hes playing the same role.

He needs a change of scenery and we'll provide that.

Fabinho isnt for sale, so that's irrelevant

How can you believe that?

A) They had made a promise to him he could leave this summer.

B) Monaco have been giving away players this summer like they are going out of fashion. Ever player has their price at Monaco. Quite honestly he could of been ours if we had moved early. Plus he was talking up the move early on in the transfer window.

He's still at Monaco.

They have quite clearly changed their minds
