The Manchester United Thread

He's a bench player. and covers injuries. Doesnt and shouldn't get ahead of Rashford

Tbh now we have nearly a fully fit squad except Rojo. Think we have really good depth for a good push on all fronts this season. Especially Prem and CL. Different options also if Mourinho wants to change formations and styles of play. Not fussed if no one else comes in.

Not interested in another player unless they are really raising the level of quality now

Draxler, Lemar etc.

watched the u18s highlights. Which we lost 4-2 and I honestly don't know how! Total domination possession, shots the lot. They have 4 shots and score 4 goals. Tbh Ercolani and Barrett were just a mess at CB! And going forward it was like watching the first team last season could of had 8 easy everyone missing sitters Burkart and Gomes the worst. Gomes and Barlow were class though tbh. But Utds best player was substituted Milan Baars looks a right serious talent, good he's finally got his clearance. Just need a couple more to get theres. Barlow scored a peno and we should of had 2 more! And Baars scored a screamer from about 20 yards. Laird and Oconner looked good at the back. Dissapionting result, but encouraged by our general play. Time to go see the u23s :) and see how Shaw and Young get on.

U16s beats Hong Kong FA U17s yesterday in their 2nd friendly in Hong Kong. Goals scored by Greenwood, Djalo/Odubeko and Mengi.

Starting XI was Allen - Wych, Mengi, Hockerhull, Elechi - Vint, Helm - Elanga, Greenwood, Sotona - Odubeko.

Djalo replaced Helm, Denham replaced Wych and Shoretire replaced Sotona in the 2nd half.

Bohui

Shaw looking trim. Will right a brief summary when get home :)

Little update. 0-0 after Mitchell missed a peno after Bohui brought down in the box. RoShaun Williams went off after 1 min elbow to the face. Was ****** went off swearing and kicking and someone told me he beat the wall walking down the tunnel couldn't see. Shaw looking solid so far been in a few crunching tackles and been fine. Oh and Swansea are right dirty *****, could of had about 7 yellows maybe a red. Ref very lenient! We're on top. I'm sure McTominey grows a foot each time I see him. Tuanzebe been a beast :)

Good to know we have our ready-made Fellaini replacement, not very good on the ball but physically imposing lol.

Lol :) tbh he's been really tidy and good in possession and driving forward tonight. But I don't think he will make it here. Think him and Willock will leave next Summer. Maybe Willock this.

0-1 down atm. Ex player Kenji Goore with there goal. Poor defending from Willock and Olesunde letting him get the shot off and just as bad GK from Joel for not being alert for the shot. Shaw and Young gone off after 60mins both did well and both unscathed. Swansea dominating since the goal.

Left United, and he's still helping us - Go on Wazza you adopted Manc.

Haha, priceless!

  • United had been staying overnight at the Lowry ahead of home games for over a decade since Fergie was in charge, with Moyes and LVG continuing the tradition.
  • Mourinho believes players will benefit more from staying at home but the squad have been told the new arrangement will be monitored.
  • Most players have welcomed it, though some have reservations.
  • Carlos Lalin - fitness coach who worked with Mourinho at Real Madrid and Chelsea - now has more responsibility.
  • Medical personnel was reshuffled last month with first-team physio Neil Hough now heading the academy's physiotherapy department. Hough's deputy Richard Merron has now replaced him as first-team physio, with academy physio Jon Picot joining Hough in the first-team setup.
  • Lalin believed to be exerting greater influence, with Mourinho keen for the players' recovery process to be sped up.

I was reading that this morning.
Luke Shaw will have his Just Eat app at the ready ;)

Still think we could do with another in before the window shuts, for me we are only one or two key injuries away from being a completly different team.

Really would like to see a winger (we were really narrow against Swansea), needed to utilise the space out-wide much more effectively. Will cost us against the better teams if we don't get that sorted. Although I realise that a lot of that is also fullback responsibility, Blind doesn't operate like that.. Shaw would.. but what happens this season with him is anyones guess.

After that for me would be a fullback as second priority after a winger, then as a 3rd priority another midfielder.

That's my number one concern.
A few defensive injuries and Carrick will be back in there again.
