The Manchester United Thread

As bad as we was first half we've been great this second half! Could of drawn even won with better finishing. Warren and Tuanzebe been dominant at the back especially Warren. Olesunde making good driving runs forward from RFB. McTominey bossed the CM area. Bohui been dangerous running behind. Same for Mitchell. Buffonge has been class since coming on! Boonen been fantastic showing why he's so highly rated and was wanted by nearly every top club in Europe. And Shaw showing what he will bring to the first team. Bombing up and down that left wing. Winning headers making some crunching tackles. And driving runs into the box and good overlapping runs.

Would expect Blind to be even more cautious tomorrow, dealing with Mahrez. Did a number on him a couple of times defensively, most impressively in Community Shield last season (hope I'm remembering right), so we need Rashford or Martial to be really on their game tomorrow down that left. I'd go Martial.

He does well defensively (hope I haven't jinxed it), just really wished he offered more going forward. Against Swansea there was so much room for overlapping runs.

Just have to wait for Shaw I guess, I'm sceptical whether he's ever going to be that player we all thought he once could be, but he definitely deserves to be given another opportunity this season to show it.

Does anyone think Shaw will realistically ever be the player again we want him to be? I'm just struggling to see it.

I wouldn't hold my breath.
What do you make of the Kieran Tierney rumours?

If you watched his 2 games on th u23s he can easily be that player again. Especially that second half yesterday he was absolute machine. Just needs fitness to build up. You guys worrying to much and writing him off already is silly imo.

Not much point targeting him imo, an even more raw Shaw. If we can't get Shaw back to his best, and push him on, then we should target a top level left back, either at the top of his game, or starting to approach it

Could almost be as silly as talking him up after two Under 23's matches ;)

It's all down to the man himself... He has a chance, so it's his choice. He can either grab his career by the b****x and put 100% into it, or become an also ran at a club like Sunderland.

He's also got to be lucky enough to stay injury free too. Not entirely down to the man himself.

He's looked sharp and a cut above in the two games he's played, that's as much as could be asked for until he plays a first team game

Tierney might be one more for next season, depending on how he does this season and how Shaw does.

Replacing Shaw with an even more raw Shaw?

If Tierney has a good season and Shaw doesn't, why not? Can't wait for Shaw forever. I've already said you give him this one to see whether he's going to cut it again or not.

Unchanged barring Martial for Rashford. Happy with this.

Think this will be our hardest game so far, they will defo offer more going forward than Swansea and West Ham.

Still looking at that bench thinking we're lacking a bit of quality, sure we have Rashford but apart from that no real game-changer. Unless I class Fellaini as well! :P

Rashford is a game-changer. His pace kills players at the start of matches, let alone coming on against knackered defenders. Lingard no slouch either.

Would hope to think we won't need a game-changer, but if so, we've definitely got pace on the bench to add something. Fellaini can change games too, as hard as it is to admit.

Did say Rashford, but yes hopefully won't be needed today, I'm thinking more going forward though through the season.

I just really think we could do with that one final piece of the jigsaw, being a winger before the window shuts.

We're only really a few key injuries away from looking a lot like last season again.

I personally think we've got a great variety of options in the attacking 3rd. A few injuries could change that, yes, but that can be said for every team in world football. That's a reason we resigned Zlatan.

I'm not sure why we're changing the lineup after winning 4-0 two times in a row, don't fix if it's not broken right?

Still think we'll win and hope Martial can start where he ended last 2 games!

We didn't change the line-up tbf. Same shape, same players, just Martial gets the majority of this game instead of Rashford, we'll be seeing him a little bit later on. It's like asking if you want your glass of wine before dinner or during.

Anyway, good half from the boys. Good to see the FB's pushed very high today, especially Blind - although I wish their crossing was better. Martial & Pogba have looked very lively. Lukaku leading the line well.

Same again lads the rewards will come.
