The Manchester United Thread

They nick a nice consolation, but let's not let that distract you from the fact United have scored 4+ goals five times this season.

STILL only September.

Make that SIX times we've scored 4+ goals this season.

Lukaku's 1 goal away from hitting double figures this season. It's September ffs.

Big man gets double figures.

Technically, STILLLLL SEPTEMBER XD

Nothing technical about it. It is. FACT. Add that to Rafa's list XD

Yes, so why is 'technically' wrongly used? September is now finished from a footballing perspective; the stats can't be enhanced.. but I had to get the last of my 5437372 "still September" posts in before 00:00 comes.

Let me have the moment, Stevo. :D

No he got double figures. Its not technically September. It is September lol

This is going to end up like one of those "what came first; the chicken or the egg?" conversations XD

OK I'll be honest, I'd like to see us be a bit more adventurous than we were at Anfield last season. I very much thought we would, up until the Pogba injury. Now I'm not so sure, with Fellaini and Matic in midfield, I can see it being a backs to the wall job.

Cant see him playing a 2 at Anfield. Sort of game Fellaini and our pace could have a field day with.

It'll either be 4-3-3 (Matic, Fellaini & Herrera) or 3-4-3 (Matic & Fellaini/Herrera). Think we're better equipped this time around the execute what we're trying to do, on the assumption that the rest of the players come back from International duty injury-free.

Would start Martial, Lukaku & Mata up front. Rashford & Mkhi to come on and add something with their pace & directness.

Would like to start Young at LB to help Martial in the final third; got doubled/tripled up on in the home-fixture, and he's in much better form now.

Young would be a given for me at LB. Simply for his pace in both defence and attack. And his crossing. Be surprised if Mou picked Martial over Rashford to start.

Had a chuckle at this XD

David de Gea must be feeling so proud.

Carried the team through 3 years of absolute dross and now is the club's most expensive spectator.

Not a bad weekend. Would've liked a draw in the City/Chelsea game, but at least we can take some consolation in it putting some early daylight between the reigning champions & ourselves.

5 clear of Wembley cursed Spurs, just need to keep up this powerful momentum. Be more than happy with a draw at Anfield after Internationals, anything more is fantastic.

Here's to all players coming back from International Duty injury free!

Really hope we don't show Liverpool too much respect though, on their day they are great, but they are few and far between. It's criminal if we don't give that defence a good testing, as they will buckle under our physicality and pace.

That's exactly how we'll approach them. Deny them space behind, counter with pace and delivery. I'd take a point away tbh. Get the 3 points at home

Manchester United officials are looking at ways to expand the capacity of Old Trafford to 88,000.

The proposed increase of more than 12,000 seats from the present capacity of 75,643 would be achieved by extending the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand, formerly known as the South Stand.

Old Trafford is already the largest club stadium in Britain, but this would almost take it onto a par with Wembley Stadium, which holds 90,000 spectators.

It would also see Old Trafford's capacity overtake the San Siro, Bernabeu, Stade de France and Westfalenstadion on the continent.

United are giving strong consideration to the long-term expansion plans because a new section for disabled fans - expected to be completed by 2020 - would lead to a reduction in capacity to around 73,300.

Previously, the railway line at the back of the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand meant expanding it would require a costly tunnel and the demolition of a number of houses.

However, advances in stadium technology mean this may no longer be a problem and 7,500 more seats could be added.

United would then look at adding quadrants in the two corners of the stand to raise the capacity to 88,000, meaning the ground would be behind only Barcelona's Nou Camp (99,354) and Wembley in Europe.

A safe-standing area may also feature in the development with United fans in favour of the concept, which would require a change in the current legislation for stadiums.

It comes as United are set to appoint full-time ticket tout officers to clamp down on the black market sale of thousands of tickets.

Where has everyone immigrated to? Is this the sign of the end for FM Base English football community, seems more dead than it's ever been.

Its international football time. And international football is boring as sin.

Site could do with revamp but that's above even me

I was going to say it's internationals time but Mike beat me. The delay between being able to post on one thread doesn't help, plus there is no transfers until Jan so no point speculating.
