The Manchester United Thread

And there we go with another embarrassing interview. Is he really going to blame the referee when Young should be given straight red and will almost definitely get a ban?

The man has lost the plot.

are you aware who Jose Mourinho Is ?? His whole blame everyone is what he does best, He deflects everything away from the blatant obvious and puts the focus and spotlight onto himself always has done! You don't see the major talking points being at how poor his teams do in certain games the attention and media make the spotlight about Jose making ludacris comments which then stops the press on most occasions from hammering the team.

People need to remember as much as he has had plenty of cash to do so Jose is having to rebuild and brand a football club, He is still managing players that won the league when Sir Alex was in charge and attempting to make Fellaini a player as well as dealing with many other players that were signed under Moyes & LVG, It will take him IMO another 3 transfer windows to get it going the exact way he wants it.

Rashford does look better when he's through the middle, but he's also not consistent/prolific enough to lead the line for us. So its a dilemma, I do understand playing him wide if it means him getting plenty of football/experience, instead of coming off the bench for 10 mins every match, and a cup game here and there. However I do think Martial is a ready made 20+ goalscorer down the middle, the guy is ice cold in front of goal. Just none of the coaches see him as a natural 9, which is a pity as I think he has all the ingredients

I was going to add 'And the same with Martial.' But anytime I have it's invariably gotten shot down that 'he's a winger and was at Monaco.'

Glad I'm not alone on that looking from the outside in at the player.

Pochettino has an even worse record than Jose. No thanks. Premiership knowledge is overrated. Also sacking a manager while second in the league us beyond stupid.

Worse record in what though Mike? We can't base managerial suitability around away records v top 6. His side have struggled a little early doors at Wembley and with the injury troubles in midfield, but they've carried on with 0 complaints. He's a top manager and he's made a lot of above average players into world beaters.

Not saying we should sack Jose tomorrow morning, just saying it'd best to replace him in the summer. Nothing personal, just think its the way forward.

Bud, please. Back in a day this **** maybe worked, but no one has been falling for this nonsense in ages. Not the media, not the fans, and certainly not the players. He's in a worst place to be pretending an underdog, because even a child knows which is the bigger and more powerful club in Manchester. The fact that he doesn't seem to realize this speaks volumes.

His last two jobs ended up in flames exactly because of behavior like this, and you seriously want to believe this is some brilliant strategist who psychologically destabilizes the opposition? It's just an old man yelling at the cloud.

Would you guys take Allegri in the summer if Jose were to part ways? My mate wants him, but he's just a slightly less pragmatic version of Jose if CL final is anything to go by. Mind you they did do a number on Barca

He's not been helped at all though when you continue to insist on playing him wide when he's not a natural winger. Just because he's pacey. No wonder his confidence is at a real low ebb.

Just a personal opinion but looking at his skill set coming through, if he'd of continued being developed as a centre-forward at this level he'd be a heck of a lot further on and a real dangerous one right now.
He was actually played as a 10 or a wide player at youth level. Until just before he got promoted to the first team, when he got a few games up top at u 21/3 level.

Wouldn't add Lallana's one year under him as you did previous mate.

He was far from great when we said him. And most everyone would have had him down as one of the first out the door when Klopp first arrived. Heck, he couldn't even get through much more than an hour of games.

The transformation in him has all come the past two and a half years or so.

Basically swapping like for like.

Ok ta.

Must have been lucky the games against ourselves to see him stand out as a striking threat before he got bumped the first team.

See their games versus Bayern and tell me again if it's a like for like. At least Allegri knows how to shut down possession teams without playing 1993 hoofball.
I’ve seen a lot of slow, sideways, backwards, crossing. But not to much hoof ball from us of late. Allegri is a good manager don’t get me wrong. But completely opposite to Poch and Sarri.

Yes he is opposite, but you have to consider whether swapping to another manager with completely different style is really a sensible move. You can't be doing all these rip it like a bandaid moves and hoping it eventually works, you need some long term strategy already.

Allegri would have no problem following the work left by Mourinho. Meanwhile, Sarri plays thrilling football, but can he do it with fuking Lukaku leading the line? Another manager and another rebuild from the ground up is madness.

Which is why we should have lined up Pep after Van Gaal

how long before you reckon? Because I think we were in talks with Jose since January 16 or so.
Remember the BBC saying they were close to signing him in 2012 but even after that fell through. Constant communication we’re still ongoing and plans put in place for his eventual arrival. With it starting by bringing in his staff at higher level from Barca and some of the youth coaches.
