The Manchester United Thread

Pogba has really turned up against the top 6 this season, hasn't he?

What a Meh first half. No intensity. Lingard anonymous. Valencia frustrating the **** out of me wasting so many good attacks. Pogba been ok needs to keep it simple and speed up god play. Gets caught on the ball to much. Lukaku no service. Matic and Herrera been good. Lindelöf my player of the half done very good against Augb! Mourinho needs to wake them up a bit at HT!

Smalling you are terrible! Pogba has been invisible this half lost times how many times he has lost the ball then thrown a strop afterwards. How about don’t dilly dally and keep it ******* simple!

Jose to @BBCSport on Fellaini future: "I think a player that grabs the crest after scoring is telling clearly that he wants to stay. I want him to stay, the club wants him to stay, I think he will stay, it is nearly there."

Fellaini: “A club like Man United has to be in the Champions League but we have to improve. Next season is a big season for us. The third year of the manager, we have to try to win the league.”

Clearly sounds like he wants to stay!

Not going to lie, seeing Sir Alex and Wenger hugging like that set off the feels and I'm not even an Arsenal fan, just a football fan. Seeing them together like that, is when it dawns on the football fan in general-it's an end of an era.

Very classy from Utd.

Pogba is 2 G/A away from 20 this season. Considering he missed 3 months to injury, that's pretty ******* impressive.

His record in the big games has generally been good too. He’s just so frustrating at times looks like he switches off or finds it to easy I don’t know what it is. Just frustrating.

Frustrating, yes. Only because he's the most talented CM in world football, so off that, should be top 5 (which isn't the case, and won't be until he adds more consistency).

What I will say though, we should have used the Matic/Herrera/Pogba midfield 3 a lot more this season. Felt Ander was underplayed a lot.

Looks after time now that at least Mourinho has settled or settling on a 3. Good to here on MUTV yesterday. Gardner saying Herrera is likely to stay as confirmed by Herrera in an interview with him.

U17 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS: These are the #MUFC players that have been called up to represent their countries. A proud moment for all players.

Belgium- Largie Ramazani
England- Ethan Laird & James Garner
Spain- Arnau Puigmal

✍️ #MUFC Under-23s midfielder Tom Sang is the latest player to commit his future to the club, after signing a new deal: manutd.co/KPc

Wont be many of these that stay on past the end of this season. From the u23s. Sang most probably deserves it. Showed good promise then got injured. Won’t make it here imo but could defo have a good career eventually at mid to lower Prem level.

From the awards tonight. Mourinho was absolute class! Funny with top banter :) and very respectable and classy to everybody. Will post quotes. Dedicated a special lifetime trophy award to Carrick.

The Jimmy Murphy u18s player award winner is - Tahith Chong.

Mourinho's Player of the Year
The manager takes to the stage to had out his own award.

I think the dream of every boy that arrive s at the club is to play for the first-team, and when he came becomes true the next dream is to play in big matches and to play champions league, and eventually to play for the national team. This team did everything in five or six months. My player of the year has to be Scott McTominay.

Mourihno on McTominay
“It was between him and Matic, because Matic last March 2017 he told me ‘I want to play for you, and I want to play for Manchester United’. Aand he make it happen. He has been very consistent, and very important for the balance of the team. I was going for him, but then I understood in two awards for young players Scott was not getting one, I changed my mind because it wasn’t acceptable.

He is the one who has done everything. He started the season in the academy and ended it playing big games in the Premier League. I thought this kid can not go home without an award.

“I always say that for me there are not young players or old players, it is just about the quality of the personality and this kid has everything that I want so I think that it is good for the younger boys in the academy to look at him as an example of player. We know it is important to have players like Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford that were born in the club, but it is right to have the right profile. Scott gives to other players that the dream is still alive.”

Mourinho to Carrick: “Thats the next shirt, I have two more gifts, the players will be happy with this, your first whistle, you can be the referee and finally, advil for headaches.”

My fave quote from Mourinho last night. Everyone ****** themselves in the room especially DDG -

"De Gea deserves a third award for worst player in training. One minute he's too cold and the next he's too wet and he doesn't save anything. Rubbish trainer."
