The Manchester United Thread

Just watching the pressers and game from yesterday. I’m already looking forward to next season. We have defo progressed this season in every department. Ok some will say the football has been dross at times, but we have also had some great football, magic moments, comebacks. Great record against the top 6 also. Looking like Mourinho is finally gonna clear out the deadwood and bring in some real quality to improve the 11 and the Squad so the drop of in rotation won’t be so big. Thing that exciting me the most is the restructuring of his staff he talked about. And the willingness to change and adapt after such along time of running things. Faria has been a huge part and key in training under Mourinho. Think it’s a step in the right direction having set coaches training different facets of the game. Fergie was great at this! Every now and then rejigging his back room staff. Carrick and McKenna if true will be very exciting pair of coaches that bring different things to Mourinho and the first teams table!

Also looking forward to further progression of our academy. The u18s to continue. And a defo improvement at u23 level. Nicky **** and Murtaugh have done a fantastic job so far.

Sounds like we are gonna get 16 yr old LB Bondswell from Forest. Turned down latest offer from then and we finally made an offer yesterday that looks set to go through. LW Mighten looks set to stay but no confirmed yet.

So Fred gave an interview for ESPN Brazil this morning. He said he almost went to City in January, but that didn't work out. Right now, he is wanted by City and United. He spoke with brazilian players at City and directly with Mou. Hope Mourinho can convince him to play for us next season.

Dont think City are that interested anymore according to there usually reliable Sam Lee. And have already made an offer for Jorginho according to Di Marzio.

Confirmed squad members that travelled to London today:

David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira, Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Ander Herrera, Scott McTominay, Marouane Fellaini, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford

Record asked if it’s a Portuguese coach who’s replacing Rui Faria at Manchester United. José Mourinho has given a few hints on who the next assistant is, but claimed that the name still can’t be revealed.
“No. It’s a person coming who worked with me before but I can’t say the name because he’s still linked to another club. Michael Carrick becomes a coach on the pitch but I’m looking for two new people on the team. Good coaches there are many, but I like to make my assistants. I do not like trained coaches, I like to shape them in my way of thinking and they grow with me and I also grow with them.”

Anyone guess who he’s talking about?

So is he saying he doesnt want a ready made coach that might have new ideas, but instead wants a fresh coach that will just learn from him and be a yes man? I don't see how tha's beneficial.

He is also saying they will have there own ideas and he will grow with them. Carrick has already said he has been giving ideas to Jose about a few things.

Just as long as it isn't John Terry!!!

To be honest I think if Villa return to the Premiership, Terry will play on for one more season. Lampard could be interesting however...

Not sure any of then are going to be good number twos. Have any of them actually done any coaching yet?
