The Manchester United Thread

If we get the correct balance this season coming. Lukaku gonna be up there for goalden boot in the league for sure.

Not even arsed saying how much the tank has came on, there for everyone to see. His finish variation has came on leaps and bounds too.

Also wish Fergie landed Hazard all those years ago. Best player in the PL for me. He, big Rom & KDB can do damage in this WC.

Ive got £10 on Belgium to win it at 10/1 and £10 on Lukaku top scorer at 16/1

Think Lindelöf has been good tonight. Some key challenges and very calm and composed on the ball so far. With good passing into the CMs.

United have signed Phil Neville's 15 year old son Harvey from Valencia

Here's an article about him in Valencia's local newspaper last year. Seems very complimentary of him.

Since he arrived in 2014, Garvey has shown great quality and adaptability and his performances in cadete B have seen him catapulted to the best in Valencia in his category. Even featuring for there second tier on one occasion (Marca)

As long as it's not here then I don't care, although I was thinking if he had the technical ability like Witsel to go with his physicality he'd actually be a decent player. (When I was watching Belgium that just sprung in my head).

I really hope it isn't Arsenal.. preferably away from PL if he doesn't stay :(
Emery is a huge fan and wanted him at PSG. Also a very good journo who is spot on with Belgium players. Said that he cant announce it until July 1st as it could conflict with rules, that Prem teams cant announce deals with each other till the end of said players contract.

We need to bring in another midfielder if we're letting him go. And much as I think it needs to be a ball player, they will need some height on them too

Witsel is even more of a thug to be honest.

Fellaini has always been class for Belgium. Because they use him as an attacking player. He is always a threat. Always has been going forward. Even at Everton. They had some stupid idea of him being a holding midfielder but as soon as it got ****** they threw him up top and he scored goals. Then when Cahill went they moved him forward permanently and he was class. Then we buy him and think he's defensive again. Obviously when he's **** throwing his elbows everyone is on his back. But when we need a goal and he gets thrown up front and delivers its seen as a ****** plan b. Fact is if any idiot with half a brain noticed hes actually not too bad playing off a striker all the time and not expecting him to defend for 80 minutes and then go up top for the last 10 (if hes not took somebody's head off with an elbow) then he's actually a pretty good player. But because he's dirty (when defending) and doesnt do flicks and tricks he doesnt get the recognition he deserves in my opinion.

Its not coincidence he plays well for Belgium being used in a more attacking role (before De Bruyne starting taking the **** out of everyone). If he goes then good luck to him. If a manager uses him right then hes a massive threat in any side in the world. If he went to Atletico and played as a 10 I bet Simeone would have him scoring 20 a season.

So looks like we will have Pogba, Matic, Fred, Fellaini, Herrera, McTominey, Periera and possibly TFM for CM next season if what Kristof is reporting is true about Fellaini. And he is nearly always right with Belgium players.

Not fussed if he stays. Will see less game time and will give us that option off the bench when chasing a game. Means we will have money to spend on a CB, LB and most likely Bale Ed will be chasing. Which would be a fantastic window imo with a couple of players shipped out on top of that.

Also means we won’t lose him for nothing when he dies leave. And no matter what anyone says he gives his all and has a good mentality that will do anything for the team or manager. And pops up with important goals.

Why do you even need a battering ram at the end of games now as a plan B, when you have the best thing in Lukaku anyway? (He's obviously much more then that but generalising).

I'd understand if we still had Chicharito as main striker and you wanted an alternative, but not now.

Arsenal fans don't want Fellaini either!

This will only benefit us, I see no negatives from losing Fellaini at all.

Edit: But as predicted he'll sign a new contract because lets face it, he won't have a better option.

I\ll try to keep calm and see the positives of keeping Fellaini, but I really can't, despite what people say about him. Never a player who we will push on to the elite level with.

Come on mate you can’t have a squad of 23/25 elite players. Fred is our CM signing that’s supposed to push us on next season. As well as who ever else we sign. Who ever we would of signed to replace him would of been a squad option anyway!

Times reporting it’s a year + 1 yr. And it’s at 100k not the 150 he was holding out for. Also says the money will go towards possible LB, CB, RW strengthening

I know that, but I just don't see what Fellaini adds to the squad that we don't have now. Pogba, Fred, McTominay. Matic full of physicality in that midfield.

Push him further up into the team like Striker and it seems fruitless as we have Lukaku. Use him just behind Lukaku as an attacking midfielder then it could work but he isn't good enough on the ball to play there.

Everyone allowed their opinion, but for me Fellaini was actually more value to this squad under LVG and Moyes due to our dire midfield as compared to now when we actually have good options and physicality there also.

Dont mind him being used as an attacking option. Lukaku is good but it’s also easier for CBS to mark him out the game just him alone for the long ball or crosses. Add Fellaini up there with him and it’s a different ball game. As long as the money goes elsewhere I don’t mind tbh.

23 days until our first pre season game, hope we can get 1-2 or even 3 more players in and 2-3 out before that!

If it means we got nuts on a top class LB and CB, then i'm not too fussed
