Current government guidance is that 'some' fans might be allowed into OT (and other places) from start October.

League could be over by end of October once again judging by them fixtures, the team will be ran into the ground (our best players), especially if one or two get injured and we're left with the crumbs of our squad to save us.

The only saving grace is one extra week before the season starts, that the clowns in charge of transfers might actually get their finger out and stop ******* about with Sancho deal, to get some other players in. Probably asking too much.

The end of the window should not be the deadline, that should be before the first game, so effectively 4 weeks to get business done. Not that long when we seem to only do one deal at a time.

Sorry mate, don't buy it at all. If anything it has given clubs more time to speak to each other (lockdown etc, longer transfer window, the hold up to our deals is the prices), more players on the market due to finances. Just look at teams like Chelsea, they knew who they wanted and executed it.

The only difference with United is that we identified who we wanted, Sancho, Grealish etc. but expected them on the cheap... so now won't pay and will go to plan Z and sign Brooks. I mean I'm still laughing at our Brexit FC policy to signing players whilst there are players like Thiago and Aouar on the market. Fair play to yourselves for getting the former.

On another note, The Athletic article this morning Joel Glazer has stuck his nose in the Sancho deal, red alert to our transfer dealings once again. Also confirms Brooks is our Grealish alternative.... sigh.

Oh and that article also says that we are possibly interested but are going to scout Uppamecano but we are interested.......... wtf.

You're completely missing the reality mate on the massive uncertainty over EVERY clubs finances in these totally uncertain times. Forget Sancho. That was never happening even in a normal window for Utd. You just aren't in that market right now. (Thiago, for example, has made it pretty clear he only wants to leave Munich for one club. Ala van Dijk. ). But regardless, Dortmund/ Villa et al are being totally unrealistic with their prices at this time. Next to NOBODY would risk anything like those demands in such an uncertain financial climate. It's why you've been the only link to keep idiots like Romano in clicks over Sancho. I'm the last person to ever defend Woodward but if anything, you should be applauding he and Utd for being F sensible for once and not paying WELL over-inflated fees when the club's finances have been hit so hard.

Yeah you can find the odd exception like Chelsea who had reserves stacked up down to the ban. But in the main, when clubs are taking such a massive drop in finances, whilst still having to meet all their other financial commitments, not least salaries across the whole football club, they are going to be FAR more prudent and wait it out to try get the best possible deal for themselves.

COVID'S changed everything mate. That's the stark reality of where we are.

I mean yeah of course it has impacted the market, but in reality only to the buyers advantage, especially if you're a somewhat wealthy club. United's naivety to take advantage of this situation is what has made it the car crash it has been so far. They expected Villa to get relegated and therefore Grealish come a lot cheaper, then with Sancho they thought due to the current situation that they could haggle Dortmund. A notoriously difficult club to do so with in the first place. Nothing can convince me otherwise, the evidence is all there to see.

United's targets for me are just as much the issue, I mean sure everyone wants Sancho, but why be so naive about it and Grealish as a top target? Is this Ole's Brexit FC transfer strategy once again costing us missing out on A LOT of other good, if not better players on the market this window. I mean why not just go and get Van De Beek at 40m, probably left it too late now with Koeman at Barca once again.

Could have just gone and got Pau Torres with his release clause, but instead we enter the Gabriel situation late when two other clubs are in advanced talks and miss out. Not entirely convinced we had any intention of even doing that deal anyway.

We haven't had a sustained or decent transfer strategy since Gill left his role and that cretin glazer rentboy Woodward took over. We either sign lazy obvious players that anyone can see or galaticos that pretty much never work out.

You'd like to think, given the pandemic has thrown up that despicable gap in the 'haves and have nots' through society in starker, front and centre contrast than there's ever been, and will only get the worse the higer the unemployment figures rise and more and more people are finding out just what it's like to be put on the breadline through no fault of their own; that things would change the other side of this and that gap would be more levelled out. But the chances of that ever happening, not least with a Government in place the next 4-years which is the polar opposite of wanting that, doesn't fill you with much hope of the status quo changing. But this isn't the forum ......

I understand a lot of clubs are suffering because of covid but they're still spending, look at Chelsea. Glazers are the reason united won't/aren't spending, not the pandemic. They're are the reason behind everything that is wrong with the club.
