If you've got 20 followers, I think that's plenty enough motivation to continue. I feel sorry for some of the authors on here that have barely 2 or 3. Story writing should be an enjoyable process. If you don't enjoy it and only do it for followers, then I would say 'what's the point'
I do it for fun, I just think, if no one follows, what's the point.

I might aswell just write it on Microsoft Word and show it to my friends.

maybe but at least you get constructive feedback on here. You've got plenty of followers, myself included. Not everyone comments so just keep doing what you are doing if you enjoy it

Yeah, I suppose. I will write an update now.

maybe write longer updates and leave longer between posting them? I'd guess the majority of people that use this site are probably still at school so won't have had the chance to read or comment yet. I guess it's up to you though

I like to be a few chapters ahead before I post but I guess that's personal preference

The club booked me a place at City of London. They had to be sure I'd pass, so they got me into a good one. I was still getting used to the weather, which is terrible compared to Florida's. The worst thing is I have to travel there everyday at 8:30! I hate it.

I was taking History of Sport, and English Language.
Both tough. I wish I had listened to my mum when she told me to try my hardest in school. As I entered the classroom for the 4th time, I was completely out of my depth - English Language? I can speak English already. All these young kids doing so well, whom understand everything the teacher is talking about.
I just copy everything he says into a little notebook, and try to figure it out.
I was determined to pass this course, so I went onto the internet, and completed the whole of KS2 & KS3 Bitesize in 2 days flat.
I was learning everyday, and now knew things such as a simile. The GCSE Bitesize one was harder, but I sort of understood it, that took me 4 days to complete, then I revised my section of A Levels, and scrambled through my notebook to find out exactly what we had been doing.
Now I was understanding what was going on and how to work in the lessons.

The players were back at training now. I have been banned from seeing them, until I had got everything back on track.

The Guardian was advertising A Level training for £49.99. You get sent a special boocklet and CD which teaches you everything.
When I had finally been bothered to get out of bed and head to WHSmith and buy it. I loaded up the CD, and started flicking through the booklet.

I even called my mum to come and help me out in this tough time. She didn't even know anything about it.

"I told you so!" She shouted in my face.

Then we got back to business.
Everything was going perfectly to plan. The school even said that my grades had shot up and they think I will be ready to do the exam next week.
It would be great to finally return to the squad!
I was nearly ready to take my exam. Yes!

I usually just have pre season drama, then half season updates.
If everything goes to plan, I might add in a few bits and bobs.

I'm lucky. My school has building works, so they have closed it until Wednesday.

Today was the big day. I had to pass two A Levels to get my job back. The club even asked if my exams were marked first in the country so I could return as soon as possible.

I entered the exam hall. Sweaty, excited and nervous. They are not a very good combination when you are about to take an exam. I am okay at English Language, but can remember hardly anything I got taught in History of Sport. I will never pass that!

When I left the exam hall I was relieved that I could have half of my life back, and used the time off to party, hang out with my mates, however I was still a bit nervous about getting my results back.
I had a set date of July 24th to return to the school and get my results. That would be the second worse day of my life! Only a week and a half away aswell!

The club collected my results for me. They invited me into the chairman's office at 13:00.
I was so scared. I mean my career could be over. All this time trying to fufil my dream of playing in the Premier League wasted. I knew I had failed in Sports History, so I had lost my job. The only way is if I pass English and they let me off for that.

We had tea in the office and talked football, beforeopening the enclosed enverlope containing the results.
The Chairman let me open it. It was a letter which had a few bits of info on the first page and my 2 results on the next.
I couldn't bring myself to look but I knew I had to.
I read out:

"English: B!
History of Sport: E."

"Noooooooooooooooooooo" I screamed.

I had lost my job, I didn't pass History of Sport. My life was over.

"Whats wrong, you got two pass grades."

"No, didn't you hear: E!"

"'E' means you have passed. Congratulations."

I couldn't believe it. I had kept my job. This was the best day of my life!
Premiership here I come!

I might actualy avoid relegation. I have pulled in some great transfers.
Update tomorrow morning.

Great story,
just read through thw whole of it,
great achievement getting from league 2 to the championship!
Hope you sucure promotion! :D

Story is awesome and very inspiring.

I love how you managed to base the story on an FM game WITHOUT making it seem so.

I've seen stories with lots of screenies and basically just a summary of an FM season and I've seen stories that seemed to have nothing to do with FM. This is the best one so far, including both FM and creative writing.

Keep u the good work, looking forward to reading more :).

Yeah I live in England, I just ran out of time.

Should expect an update soon tho.

Sorry about the lack of updates.

I will try and add in a short transfer one now.

August 30th, 2011

After a long transfer season, we tried hard to get in the signings that would help keep the team up.

Busy busy times saw the club break their record transfer for Antonio German with a £6.5m transfer of Home Farm starlet Steven Porter (Regen.)
We made few loan signings only bringing in 2 players on loan, even though our reputation has grown.
The club spent a wopping £13.25m on transfers this year, also bringing in:

Jonjo Shelvey (£1.6m)

David Beckham - Free - Key Transfer

Ben Mee - Free

Billy Sharp - Free

Kelly Martin - Free - Liverpool

The Rest:

any chance of a screenshot of the regen?
Yeah. He is my best regen I have ever seen.

I didn't pay the cash upfront though. I have loads of clauses and some international thing where I have to pay 2.5m after 20 international apperances.

Why did he have to be Irish! Couldn't he be Argentinian and never get an International game!

Unless there is any new news, I don't think I will update until December/January.

Thank you to all my followers and everyone who has encouraged me to complete my second longest footie manager story!
