Happiness Not Unanimous at Elland Road - Traore Goes Home, Yorkshire Evening Post Reports
Leeds, West Yorkshire -- It seems as if Leeds wonderkid Lacina Traore is a bit homesick, and he's letting it seriously affect his form. Traore skipped training yesterday without permission from any of the Leeds staff and showed up late for the team's weekly tactics meeting today. Traore, an 18 year old from the Ivory Coast, admits he was wrong however terribly homesick.
"I apologize for what I have done, but I am very unsettled," said Traore in an apologetic tone, "I did not mean to insult my coaches or my teammates. I just need some time to be home."
And time is what he will get. Leeds boss John Lopiano issued a warning to Traore after the initial incident, but after sitting down and talking with him in person, he's more understanding.
"He's just a boy," said Lopiano with a bit of a chuckle. "I think sometimes we forget that he's only 19 years old. He needs time to mature, and right now if he needs to go home for a bit, we will let him. We are a family here at Leeds, and we care for each other in such a manner."
The 6 foot 8 inch striker has been a force at Leeds since arriving from CFR Cluj in Romania earlier this year. Traore has 4 goals and 2 assists in 7 appearances for Leeds (5 league, 2 cup), and forms an excellent strike partnership with Marlon Harewood who together have disrupted back lines all over the Championship so far this season.
"He's come a long way," said Harewood, "and he's going to come on even more in time. He's going to be a fine striker. He already is. Just imagine what the future holds."
In Traore's absence, it is likely that Mike Grella, the American born striker, will take his spot up front.
Traore is set to return in about one month.

Lopiano, Manager of the Month; Harewood, Player of the Month...Leeds Keeps Rolling
Leeds, West Yorkshire --Coming as a shock to nobody, the awards for Manager of the Month and Player of the Month will remain at Leeds for August. It was announced this morning that John Lopiano was voted best boss after his stunning start which has seen his Leeds side win six out of their first seven games; and it is no coincidence that the Player of the Month is none other than one of Lopiano's own players, Marlon Harewood. The former Aston Villa man has been scorching his way through the Championship, scoring 6 goals and having 3 assists in 7 matches (5 league, 2 cup). With an average match rating of 8.43, Harewood has been the statistical star of his team so far in this Championship campaign.

Robinho, Tevez tandem run lowly Leeds to ragged League Cup ending
Leeds, West Yorkshire -- It took a 5 goal drubbing from Manchester City to send Leeds home from the League Cup, all thanks to Robinho and Carlos Tevez. The tandem combined for four goals and danced in circles around the Leeds defense.
"What can I say? They're a great team," said Leeds boss John Lopiano, "I don't think anyone was expecting us to win...so in the end, we went out and played our hearts out. They're just too talented."
Lopiano also admitted that he was disappointed their League Cup run was over, as he was hoping to spoil the party for some of the bigger teams. This was not the case, as Leeds left the pitch, heads hung in defeat.
"The boys shouldn't be down," said Lopiano. "A loss is a loss, and you grow from it. It's time to focus on winning the Championship."
Leeds, who have been somewhat off of their typical form with two wins, one loss, and two draws in their last five league games as well as the League Cup thrashing from Manchester City, are looking to pick things up as they have three players returning from injury over the next week and a half. One of those players, Eggert Jonsson, scored the game winning goal in the 90th minute of their game against Leicester on his return from injury.

Monthly Review: October
October was a decent month for results, seeing the team win two games, lose one, and draw two. The real story of this month was losing my two best players for three to four months. Jonsson was an incredible signing and a talented player, but this is his fourth major injury already of the season. Snodgrass is fresh off a player of the month award, however he also will be out for three to four months. That means two of my key midfielders will be out for the next few months and someone will have to step in and make a difference. RESULTS

Losing my two key midfielders, Eggert Jonsson and Robert Snodgrass, for close to four months is a huge loss. Someone is going to need to step up and take control of the central midfield. This is where Bradley Johnson comes in. He's had good form all year for me off the bench and as an occasional starter, however now he steps into a pivotal starting role and will need to perform.

Monthly Review: November
November was a good month for the squad. No losses, and only one draw in four matches. Eggert Jonsson came back early from his injury...three months early actually, but Leeds welcomes him back with open arms. He will not play for a few games to get back to complete health, but having him back is huge. Lacina Traore is a scoring machine and now leads the team with 9 goals. The club is looking forward to an excellent December. RESULTS

I don't think anyone is even following this anymore, haha, but I'm going to continue because I want to continue this challenge.
December had its ups and its downs. The recorded two wins, two losses (including a heartbreaker to Ipswich), and three draws. One of the team's key midfield pieces, Carlos Carmona, was injured and will miss four weeks of action. Neil Kilkenny, who has been a key component to the bench, is also injured and out for a few weeks. Hull City have a strong hold on the top spot on the table, however spots 2 through 8 are wide open, with Leeds sitting in 5th. With a depleted midfield, Leeds will look to continue their consistent form at the top of the table and remain in contention for promotion. RESULTS
