Domingos (Braga's Coach) doesn't know how the **** he's still on 1st place :P

Got to be honest, they are doing a great job so far, and to think that most of their players were players dismissed by the top3. One of their full back, João Pereira signed for Sporting on this period, he played on Benfica for 2-3 years if I recall correctly.

Braga getting better....have an ex-Newcastle player aswell!(Hugo Viana)

TODAY'S NEWS
Benfica- Luisao says that the supporters are the key to the good season the team is doing. Record (newspaper) says that the eagles are trying to sign Job, an angolan striker who is considered to be the next Mantorras. Miguel Vitor has been transfered for Iraklis in Greece, and that allows Benfica to register Airton, one of the team's tranfers, along with Alan Kardec and Eder Luis, in the competitions. In the game against poverty, scheduled to the 25th January at Estadio da Luz (Benfica stadium), Poborsky was confirmed in the Benfica All-Star, for the game against Ronaldo, Zidane and Friends. This game already counts with stars like Nedved, Barthez, Zidane, Kaka, Miccoli and Rui Costa. The gainings of this game will be used to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake victims.

Sporting- Pedro Mendes, Rangers' midfielder, is still at the aim of the lions, which are now analysing the portuguese midfielder physycal form after a 3 months injury. The defenders Nadir Belhadj (Pompey) and Silvio (Rio Ave) are some other targets to reiinforce the Alvalade team, which is going to face Mafra today, in a game counting to the Portuguese Cup.

Porto- Djalma, Maritimo's striker, will probably be the next reinforcement of the northern team, which is facing the possibility of an heavy suspension on Hulk and Sapunaru. Fernando Belluschi is facing serious problems entering in the initial team due to Ruben Micael's transfer. Mario Bolatti was transfered to Fiorentina, but the two clubs didn't specified the values envolved. Porto will face Belenenses in Lisbon today in a game counting for the Portuguese Cup.

Cheers

Come on Braga!! :P

Andy, I will post some Braga news for you :P

BRAGA- The portuguese team has "suffered" less goals than Barcelona this season. Braga will face Freamunde in a game counting for the Portuguese Cup. The directors have asked as birthday present for the club 89th anniversary the portuguese title. The club gave money to the player Peterson (from Haiti) so that he can help his family.

Cheers m8

sorry but i kind of like Leixoes FC. They have a catchy name and a cool logo

Porto just defeated Belenenses for the Portuguese Cup after 30 penalties :@

Belenenses is the last in the league, Porto is the champion and the holder of the cup.

Goals by Lima (Belenenses) at 13', Falcão at 15', Lima again at 80' and Rodríguez at 85'. Rodríguez was sent off at 99' with a Red Card after stoping a counter-attack. The game would only be solved on a pentalty shootout after 30 penalties. High tension match!

I'm sorry but I wasn't able to update the thread because I couldn't access the site, don't know why...

TODAY'S NEWS

Benfica- Note: Benfica was already eliminated from the Portuguese Cup by Vitoria de Guimaraes. Eder Luis, the new signing in he club from Lisbon, promised he would shine and score lots of goals. Ruben Amorim, the central midfielder is back to the team after a injury on the knee. Jorge Jesus, Benfica coach, said the winning streak the club is having will be very hard to stop. Keirrisson, the brazilian striker on loan from Barcelona, who is having a really poor season in Portugal, may leave Portugal before the end of the loan, which is in the end of the next season. His manager says that there are interested clubs in him, but doesn't specify names. The young star Nelson Oliveira will leave Benfica on loan to Rio Ave. The argentinian player Jara is one of the reds target, as well as the angolan striker Job and the slovenian keeper Oblak.

Porto- As Crippler said, the northern last wednesday beat Belenenses in a game counting to the Portuguese Cup. However, the game was only decided at the penalty shoot out,a nd after 30 penalties. the decisive penalties were missed by Romario (Belenenses striker) and scored by Farias (Porto's striker). Note to the fact that the world record on pso is off 32 penalties. Ruben Miacel, the main Porto's winter transfer, was called to face Estoril, in a game counting to the last fixture of the Carlsberg Cup group stage. Jesualdo Ferreira, Porto's coach is in doubt to continue if he doesn't achieve an acceptable place at the end of the season. Passarella, one of the River Plate directors, said that Ernesto Farias wanted to return to Argentina.

Sporting- The lions played wednesday and beat Mafra (2nd division B = League 2) 4-3. After being winning 4-1 at the 80 minutes, Mafra scored two goals and almost obtained a draw at Sporting's stadium. Rui Patricio, the lions goalkeeper, made a big error, which I will post in the end of this post, and at the end of the game, the striker Liedson and Sporting director of football Sa Pinto had a fight at the backstage. In the end, Sa Pinto quit and Liedson had a serious suspension in his wage. However, the striker was called for the match against Trofense this weekend.

Braga- The big surprise in the championship won against Freamunde 3-1, and will face União de Leiria this weekend to the Carlsberg Cup, but they have been already eliminated of the group stage. Renteria, who arrived Estadio AXA (Braga's stadium) on loan from FC Porto, is ready to play, but Leone and Miguel Garcia, the last one bought this winter, won't play this weekend

Its between Braga and SLB.
Braga is playing really well, but i dunno what happened 2 Beleneses.

Portuguese football sucks :(
It use 2 be really cool few years ago, but now its **** :(

NEWS:

Benfica- In the VIII Game against Poverty, organized by the UNDP and which reserves this year were gave to the Haiti's earthquake victims, finished with a 3-3 draw between Ronaldo, Zidane and Friends and Benfica All-Star. For the portuguese team Nuno Gomes scored two goals and Eder Luis, the new player for the Lisbon team, scored the last one. To the visitors, the goals were scored by Pires, Kaka and Bhutia. Highlight to the retired striker Mats Magnusson, a former Benfica player who fell twice in the game, providing funny moments to the nearly 60.000 attendants at Estadio da Luz. Mantorras is considering retiring in the end of the season as he isn't playing. Airton, the new player for the club, was given a promise by the Benfica chairman that he'll be registered in the competitions as soon as Keirrison, who is on loan from Barcelona, leaves the club, still this winter. Benfica was drew against Sporting in the Carlsberg Cup semi-finals draw. Rui Costa, a director of football of the reds, said Javi Garcia was totally rentabilized with the good exhibitions he has been doing. Jorge Jesus was clear of all charges due to his attitude in the game against Nacional in 2009, a game which Benfica won 5-1. The gesture he made when Benfica scored the 4th goal:

Porto- Falcao the best striker of the north team, says his team will win against Nacional this weekend. Hulk and Sapunaru will have a penalty of at least 6 months of suspension due to incidents inside the tunnels of Benfica's stadium, where these players hitted stewards guarding that place. Pinto da Costa the chairman of the blues, will have a 3 month suspension punishment as he hasn't obeyed the 2 year suspension penalty he had due to active corruption. The tappings are on youtube, but in portuguese. Porto and Sporting were drew on the Portuguese Cup quarter finals draw and against Academica at Carlsberg Cup, after winning against Estoril 2-0. When Porto was getting to Estoril stadium, its bus and the chairman car were stoned by an anonymous group.

Sporting- The lions are trying to sign Manuel Fernandes from Valencia and Ricardo Quaresma from Inter, both on loan. However, Manuel Fernandes signing is being complicated by the player salary, and Quaresma loan might be facilitated with the entry of Daniel Carriço or Miguel Veloso in the business.

Braga- Eduardo, the team GK, has signed a contract until 2013 with the club

NEWS: Paulo Sergio, Vit. Guimaraes coach, said he was a big fan of Jorge Jesus and his work at Estadio da Luz. Fabio Coentrao will probably be the left defender this weekend against Guimaraes, a team which David Luiz, the central midfielder, expects to play at the defense in order not to let Saviola and Cardozo score. Javier Balboa will be transferred to a 2nd league team in spain, opening space to the registering of Airton in the competitions. Ruben Micael, Porto's new midfielder said he was hit by Jorge Jesus at Benfica-Nacional in the 2009 match. However, Benfica has mock and said that the player was only giving Porto reasons to be signed by accusing the rivals. Jara, the argentinian midfielder who is expected to be transfered to Benfica at the end of the season, scored a goal in his first call for the Argentina national team.

Porto- Sebastian Prediger, the young midfielder is on loan at Boca Juniors from Porto. In the game against Nacional this weekend, Fernando and Farias won't play due to physical problems. Maicon and Ruben Micael will be at the starting eleven. Falcao said he doesn't want to believe that Porto is being harmed by the referees decisons, but thinks that having three goals anulated in a game is strange.

Sebastian Prediger

Sporting- Jose Mourinho, Inter coach, said he wanted to sign Miguel Veloso for his team on loan but Sporting denied any offers of the italian club, which difficults an agreement between Sporting and Inter in Quaresma loan business, which can still be made with the inclusion of Daniel Carriço on it. Manuel Fernandes business is also complicated as Valencia is putting inaccessible clauses on the business.

Miguel Veloso

Braga- Luis Aguiar, a new member of the team will probably be in the starting eleven against Sporting this weekend.

Btw, I don't post more news about Braga as there aren't many news about them, and the main news and controversies envolve the Big 3. I've decided to attach pictures to the news as I think it makes them easier to read and nicer

NEWS

Benfica- Jorge Jesus said to the press that he doesn't care with the seven though games in February, saying that the league winner wouldn't be decided in February. According to Arsenal de Sarandi board of directors, club which owns Franco Jara, there's another offer for the player from a portuguese club. Oscar Cardozo said he wanted to score a goal and win against V. Guimaraes this weekend and dedicate the goal and victory to his friend Salvador Cabanas, who has been shot in the head. Jose Shaffer will be on loan to Banfield from Benfica, and this allows Airton to be registered in the competitions. So, Keirrison will probably stay at Estadio da Luz until the end of the loan.

Porto- The blues payed 5,5m euros plus Ernesto Farias for the transfer of Kleber from Cruzeiro. Fernando has recovered from an injury yesterday and will be in the 18 players who will face Nacional this weekend.

Sporting- the lions have finally signed Pedro Mendes from Rangers. After seeing Manuel Fernandes being bought by Inter, which was denied a Miguel Veloso offer, the Lisbon team decided to buy the portuguese midfielder playing at Scotland. The greens are also trying to buy Andre Santos from U. Leiria. Izmailov was called to face Sp. Braga after being injured.

Braga- [I decided that even with a few news I could maintain the club news] The north team will try to break with Sporting winning streak this weekend, as well as for the 13th time in the 75 editions of the Portuguese League win all the big 3 at home. Luis Aguiar is the big surprise of this game, as he has just been bought.

NEWS:

Benfica- Benfica beat yesterday V. Guimaraees 3-1, with two goals by Carlos Martins and one by Pablo Aimar. Even with the intention to dedicate a goal to Cabanas, Cardozo didn't score any, even trying (too much, in fact), and he and Carlos Martins had a discussion inside the field (nothing special, don't worry :P). Carlos Martins, who, as I said, scored two goals, finished the game earlier as he got two yellow cards. The away team goal was scored by Nuno Assis, a midfielder who left Estadio da Luz 2 seasons ago. At the end of the game, Maxi Pereira joined Jorge Jesus theory and said that Sporting was totally out of the championship fight. Note to the fact that Eder Luis was really close to score his first goal for the Lisbon team. Franco Jara, from Arsenal de Sarandi, in Argentina, signed a 5 year contract with Benfica, but he will only arrive at the end of the season.

Porto- The northern team won 4-0 against Nacional, with two goals for Falcao and Varela. Jesualdo Ferreira, the team coach, said that Porto will continue to win and fight for the title. Ruben Micael, who arrived Porto from Nacional, was involved in every goal for the team. Kleber, the new transfer for the blues, has arrived Porto yesterday.

Sporting- The Lisbon team returned to the defeats, this time against Braga 1-0, a result which almost finishes with the team ambitions to win the league. However, Rui Patricio and Carlos Saleiro still believe that the team may reach the title. Pedro Mendes arrived Lisbon and said he wants to give good results to the team supporters and members.

A screenshot to the game which will probably finish with the lions ambitions to win the title

Braga- The surprise team won against Sporting 1-0 with a goal from Paulo Cesar. However, Domingos Paciencia will only admit to be in the fight for the title when there are only 10 games missing.

I'm Sorry, but I don't have the time to continue posting the news. Now I'll just post the results and games, as well as one single new for each one of the big 4.

I'm sorry for the ones who liked the older format of the news, but it takes a lot of effort, like Sam said in the beggining of the thread and, believe it or not, I have a life besides translating a whole week of news :) ...
