Nothing worse than injuries during a preseason :( Money spent wisely, good luck! Van den Boomen looks like a really promising player.

August Review

Results

2/8/15 / GA Eagles v De Graafschap

View attachment 282134

A good performance to start the season, but a really unlucky result. We played well and were by far the better team, the only problem was that they put their chances away and we didn't.

8/8/15 / De Graafschap v FC Twente

View attachment 282131

A decent result at home against a good side. We are still trying to find our best XI.

12/8/15 / Zwolle v De Graafschap

View attachment 282130

A great result away from home against a good side in the Eredivisie. We played them away in the cup last year and lost 5-3, is this signs that we have made progress since then? Saleh Gomaa really got his De Graafschap career going with two goals.

16/8/15 / De Graafschap v Ajax

View attachment 282129

Was always going to be a tough game, unfortunately the better side won. Borja Granero a bright spark in a poor performance from us.

23/8/15 / De Graafschap v Feyenoord

View attachment 282132

Another tough home game, this time against Feyenoord. I am pleased with the result, Borja Granero was brilliant again, and Vincent Vermeij found last seasons shooting boots.

30/3/15 / FC Groningen v De Graafschap

View attachment 282133

I thought we could win this game, but FC Groningen were definitely the better team and deserved to win, rounding off a no more than average month of August.

Player of the Month

View attachment 282124

Borja Granero has had a great start to the season holding the midfield together for us, along with Branco van den Boomen. We picked Borja up on a free, and he is already by far our most valued player hopefully we can continue that form into the rest of the season. If he can get rid of the yellow cards then he will be even better for us.

Eredivisie

View attachment 282128

We sit in 13th after August. We have had a few good performances, but we haven't had the results I would like. Hopefully we can improve in September and climb the table.

Fixtures

View attachment 282126

Some tough games in September. We face AZ away which will be tough, and Voldenham who came up with us from the Jupiler League, really want to win that game! We will also face Dutch Cup and Eredivisie Champions PSV, a good challenge for us.

Nothing worse than injuries during a preseason :( Money spent wisely, good luck! Van den Boomen looks like a really promising player.

Yeah I know :( Thanks man, we will see how the season goes! Hoping to make the top half.

September Review

Results

13/9/15 / AZ v De Graafschap

View attachment 281997

We started the month of September off with a tough away game at AZ Alkmar. Asdrubal scored followed by a van den Boomen penalty early on which made it 2-0 at half time. In the 70th minute it was still 2-0, but in the 72nd it was 2-2. A horrible collapse by us, but we got away with a good point.

19/9/15 / Voldenham v De Graafschap

View attachment 281998

This has become a real grudge match. Every time we play Voldenham I want to prove that we are better than them. We dominated from the off, and we won the match 2-0. Young striker Vincent Vermeij scored both goals, he is starting to find last years top goal scoring form which helped lead us to the title.

23/9/15 / vv Hangladia v De Graafschap

View attachment 281999

A fairly easy cup tie against non-league opposition. A good win, a shame not to keep a clean sheet, but we are
through to the next round.

26/9/15 / De Graafschap v PSV

View attachment 282000

A really tough challenge for us, against the best team in the Nederlands at the moment PSV. Memphis Depay has been unreal for them. I fired up the lads, but we conceded in the 12th minute, when Adam Maher scored a tap in after some great work by Duvan Zapata. New signing Cehat Celik scored though, to make it 1-1 at half time. Vincent Vermej then scored 2, and we were 3-1 up with 10 minutes to go against the champions! Zapata pulled one back for them, but it wasnt enough, we escape with all 3 points after a superb performance and brilliant match! We put on a show.

Player of the Month

View attachment 282010

Branco van den Boomen has had a top class first 2 months after joining from FC Eindhoven. He has scored some goals, created some goals and been a rock defensively for us. I started by playing him as a centre back, but I think he is too valuable to play though so I now play him in midfield. He reminds me of Yaya Toure a lot.

Facilities Update

View attachment 282009

Some great news as I convinced the board to upgrade our youth facilities. I hoped this would happen following my shrewd spending in the transfer window.

Injury Update

View attachment 282008

Dean Koolhof is back after a lengthy lay-off! He is a key player for us, hopefully he will be as good as he was last year.

Eredivisie

View attachment 282004

The league table looks a lot better for De Graafschap fans after a great Septmeber. We are already 9 points clear of the drop, and we are 5 points behind 5th. If we finish in 7th we have a chance of qualifying for the Europa League, which would be a huge achievement in our first season in the Eredivisie, I think that is our new aim!

Fixtures

View attachment 282007

A brilliant month for us, with 3 wins, 1 draw and 0 losses. We seem to be heading in the right direction. What looks like a nice month coming home, we have 3 home games in the league and 1 cup game. SC Heerenveen are a good side though, and Willem II are on form.

Transfer News

Joao Teixeira / Liverpool - Free

View attachment 281996

Some late transfer news. Right at the end of the month we managed to pick up Joao Teixeira on a free after he was released from Liverpool. I think he has the potential to become a top player if given the chance. He needs to regain match fitness, but soon will be a feature in the first team!

Results

4/10/15 / De Graafschap v SC Cambuur

View attachment 281897

A great, solid performance to start off the month. We blew them away, and we 3 goals up almost within half an hour. A great game for us, to continue our top form in September.

18/10/15 / De Graafschap v SC Heerenveen

View attachment 281899

I went into this game thinking it would be tough to get away, but we were unbelievable! The whole team gave a performance of their life, and we destroyed SC Heerenveen. The score could have been 5 or 6! A top performance and result, hopefully we can play something like this every game this year!

24/10/15 / De Graafschap v Willem II

View attachment 281900

Willem II feature FM god Alberto Cerri on loan, so I thought this game could be a tough one. We were definitely the better team in the first half, but we went in at the break at 3-2. I pumped the lads up, and we were unreal the 2nd half, scoring 2 more, and winning 5-2 in the end. Another brilliant home result to go with a top performance.

28/10/15 / RKC v De Graafschap

View attachment 281902

We struggled in this game, in what in theory shouldve been our easiest game this month. We had to go to extra time against the Jupiler League side, which was annoying I was have a big away game at Heracles in only a few days.

Player of the Month

View attachment 281894

No question about this one, Vincent Vermeij is our POTM. He has been in another world recently. He is now the joint top scorer in the Eredivisie with 11 in 11. In his last 5 games, he has scored 9, averaging 8.68! His value has rocketed from less than 1 million euros to 2.4 million. If he carries on at this rate the interest from big clubs could be just around the corner..

Injury Blow

View attachment 281892

Javi Noblejas picked up an injury which will keep him out for 4 weeks, almost the whole of December. He has become a real key player for us, hopefully we can get by without him.

Eredivisie

View attachment 281891

We lie in 7th after 5 straight wins in the league! If this form keeps going, there is no reason why we can't climb the table even more! The bottom 3 look doomed already, PSV and Ajax are struggling as well.

Fixtures

View attachment 281889

A grudge game against Heracles to start the month, we sold two players to them, Caner Cavlan and Jerry Van Ewijk in the summer. We play a few teams near the bottom, but away from home which is never easy.

Results

1/8/15 / Heracles v De Graafschap

View attachment 281591

Jerry Van Ewijk started on the wing for Heracles, but we kept him really quiet and he was taken off at HT. A close away game, but we come away with yet another 3 points. To be honest I think we were lucky to get all 3, but I will take it!

8/8/15 / Excelsior v De Graafschap

View attachment 281590

A brilliant away performance, Vermeij banger another few in and van de Boomen scored from the spot. Another brilliant performance from us, we just cannot stop winning!

22/11/15 / De Graafschap v FC Utrecht

View attachment 281589

A really really good performance yet again. I am running out of words to say! Salelh Gomaa was top class, and Vermeij scored another brace.

28/11/15 / De Graafschap v FC Dortrecht

View attachment 281588

We end the month with a solid game from us against one of the leagues poorest sides, they have only scored 4 goals all season! Joao Teixeira started his first game for the club after regaining his match fitness, and marked it with a goal. I dont need to tell you who scored the other.

9 league wins in a row!

Player of the Month

View attachment 281587

It was close between Saleh Gomaa and Vincent Vermeij, but I couldn't not give it to this for the 2nd month in a row. He has scored 5 goals in 4 games this month, he is the league's top goalscorer, he is scoring more goals that games he is playing! Some more good news as he secured a new contract with us.

Injury News

View attachment 281585 View attachment 281584

We did have some bad news this month, Asdrubal got himself injured in training and will miss the rest of the year, whilst new keeper Darren Keet who has been playing really well recently will a huge chunk of the season.

Eredivisie

View attachment 281593

Almost beyond belief, we are 3rd after 16 games, 1 point behind 1st! We are ahead of both PSV and Ajax as well. It is so close though, if Ajax win both their games in hand the top 6 teams would be seperated by 2 points! Memphis Depay has been injured but is just coming back to fitness, and Ajax are starting to gain momentum, so I expect those 2 teams to come out ahead of everyone else, would be amazing if we could challenge for a UCL spot or even the title in our first year though!

Fixtures

View attachment 281592

We cannot stop winning, every game we go into I almost expect us to outscore the opposition. We start of December with a really tough home game to top of the league and rivals Vitesse. GA Eagles are no pushovers and FC Twente away will be a real challenge. We will also play FC Utrecht int he 4th Round of the Dutch Cup before we have a month off for the Winter break.

Absolutely fantastic. It is great to see you doing so well.

If you were top 3 for the Winter break that would be a tremendous achievement.

Keep it up (H)

Fantastic form mate, keep an eye out for a striker at ADO Den Haag called Segun Owobowale. He has been amazing for me on my ADO save, especially early on in the save.

View attachment 281569View attachment 281570

(P.s - if you're wondering why I've got 2 managers on the save it's because I've added a 2nd manager to manage my feeder team Dodrecht to hopefully challenge ADO eventually and to help manage some of the youngsters who I bring through at ADO who can't get a sniff in their 1st team squad)

He looks awesome! Gonna go have a look at him for my Ajax side and potentially partner him with Zivkovic.

Thanks man! :) It looks like we will be there or thereabouts with it being so tight.

Man stop it or you'll win the league :P

Hahaha, that would be sick! ;)

Cheers man! Yeah he does look decent, not banging them in at the rate Vermeij is though ;)

I just checked, he moved to Arsenal for 1.5 mil, and is on loan at Grasshoppers!

December Review

Results

4/12/15 / De Graafschap v Vitesse

View attachment 280888

A quality game of football, at home to Vitesse. It was 2-2 at half time, the boys were pumped up and we pushed for a goal. It came early in the 2nd half through Vermeij yet again, and we hung on for a great win against top of the league!

13/12/15 / De Graafschap v GA Eagles

View attachment 280887

On paper this was one of the easiest games of the season, and that is the way it turned out to be. We were way better than GA Eagles, we played them off the park. Joao Teixeira got a goal again, as well as Saleh Gomaa and Vermeij.

19/12/15 / FC Twente v De Graafschap

View attachment 280886

A really tough game away FC Twente, who are still in around the top of the table despite a lack of form recently. Luc Caistagnos is banging them in for them, he's scored 14 in 16 this year. He was the danger man, we managed to stop him but we couldn't stop them from going 2-1 up. We pushed forward looking for an equaliser, and than man Vermeij was there for us again. We draw 2-2 ending our 11 game win streak in the league, but we are still unbeaten since loosing to FC Groningen in August!

View attachment 280844

22/12/15 / FC Utrecht v De Graafschap

View attachment 280885

This was our poorest performance of the month. We were tired so I rested a few players after the FC Twente game. We were forced to extra time after dominating the game, but I brought a few big players on, Saleh Gomaa scored and Dean Koolhof made sure of the win. We are through to the Quarter Finals!

View attachment 280868

We will play Helmond Sport in the Dutch Cup Quarter Final. A great draw for us, they are playing well at the moment but they are a Jupiler League side, we should be too good for them. PSV and Ajax are already out of the competition, so we have a great chance to win some silverware here!

Player of the Month

View attachment 280869

Another great month for Saleh Gomaa. Since joining he has pulled the strings in midfield, he scored 2 and assisted 3 this month. We need to keep him fit if we want to keep our title challenge up.

Eredivisie

View attachment 280890

Unreal first half to the year for us! We are 2nd in the league, but we are only behind Vitesse who are top on goal difference. PSV have just got Memphis Depay back from injury, I expect them will make a charge after the winter break. Ajax are also poised to make a run for the title. It is very close at the top, and a lot of things can still happen.

Fixtures

Another great month for us. Our win streak was ended away from home at FC Twente, it lasted 11 games in the league! We are still unbeaten since August though. We will re-start our Eredivisie campaign away at Ajax after the winter break, which will of course be one of the toughest games of the year. Zwolle are no pushovers, and we also continue our Cup challenge away at Helmond Sport.

I have got a few offers from other teams, Blackburn, Ipswich and Iverness are interested in my services. I will be staying with De Graafschap, I think we are in the process of building something special here!
